Default Passenger side mirror dipping

Finally found out why on one key, the mirror really dipped, and on another it did something different.

With memory seats, you can actually program what you want the mirror to do when you select reverse, i.e. just adjust the mirror as much as you like and it will remember that position when you select reverse.

Nice touch

I had this set up to go into dip-mode when in reverse, but only if the curbside mirror is pre-selected. It worked great. Now, after receiving a PCM software update from the dealer, the mirror dips ALWAYS. No matter which mirror is selected, when going into reverse the car automatically selects the curbside mirror and dips it. I hate this. I don't always want it dipped.

Anyone else notice this? Or am I the dip?

BradB,
Check out Page 190 & 122 in the OM.
If you turn off Auto Lowering of Mirror , then it will only lower manually, when you select it and are in reverse.

Yep. I did all that. Had it working fine prior to my PCM update. Hmmm.

Did you get the Instrument Cluster Update too, or just the PCM update?

In that video it does not mention though that you can adjust how the mirror adjusts on reverse. I..e you have to manually adjust it once, and after storing it, it will remember it for the next time.

Actually, after reading my invoice, it's just the Instrument Cluster update. Plus a PDCC control module update. My car is supposed to be up to date on everything now.

Thanks for this post. My mirror only lowered a tiny bit and I did not know I could change it. I am not clear on how to save the lowered setting. Do you put the car in reverse put the mirror where you want it and then save it to the door settings?
