I just finished the job for my Passport 9500ix. It took me about 2 hours. My back/neck will never be the same. Thanks for the DIY pictures and tutorial. I would have never been able to do this with out your help and the others that posted here as well. I also watched 3 YouTube videos that were helpful.

I just completed the job on my 2015 911 Turbo with the hardwire for my Valentine One. Thanks for the post. The wires were very small and difficult to handle but it was well worth the effort. Just made my day. Great stuff!!!!!

I just finished this with a Valentine 1. However, when I opened the mirror housing the brown cord was not one piece with a metal end, but instead was cut and twisted together?

While I was putting the mirror back after the install, the brown end with the metal fell off (I believe this part was attached to the mirror) and now the brown cord with the copper fray ending is exposed. Everything seems to be working fine but is this going to be an issue???

Please see drawn picture for a better understanding. Sorry I should have taken pictures...

This wiretap off the console worked great for me. Ten minutes for the whole job but I only had the blue connector so no auto off. Probably a blessing for me as I only need it occasionally.

The credit card tip was crucial.

The map light is key, instructions worked well on 991.1 with auto dimming mirrors

Can you run more than one mirror tap to the same access points? I'd like to add a dash cam but I've already tapped the two access points for my radar detector.

Can someone please confirm with 991 2012-2016, when vehicle is off the device hooked up to this brown and blue wire will shut off?

Yes, powers on when ignition is turned on, and off when ignition is off.

I personally had a problem with an airbag warning. Fault code indicated a bad ground. Suspect I knocked the ground wire lose on the connector that does into the plastic shell with the buttons.

Thank you for the awesome diy on this project. My wife will never have to worry about a flying radar detector again!

Did you slide the connectors into the plug turn on the Ign. key to power up the device and then turn the key off and close the door wait a few seconds/minutes to see if the device turned off ?

Weird I had the Air Bag sensor go off when I had my front windshield UV Film installed but was easily cleared with a code reader.

Well, I thought all was good with the blendmount wire tap install until today and tried my wipers and they don't work. When doing the intsall, i first tap'd the plug wthe plug with blue, brown and yellow wires thinking that my 2012 991 was a mid-year production and may have a different wire color (yellow instead of pink). When I tapped the blue and brown, the lights and the wipers turned on. That was when I realized the plug i needed was on the other side where I could not see it! Anyway, now I'm thinking about disconnecting the battery to see if that resets the computer and fixes the issue. The windshield washer still squirts, but no blade action.

Anyone run into this issue and have a fix?

For anyone who might make the same mistake tapping the wrong plug as noted above, a simple battery disconnect corrected the problem with the wipers not working.
