Default 2014 Red 991 Cabriolet...bad window moldings

We took delivery of our now Guards Red 2014 Carrera Cab in August. Recently looked at my side widow moldings on the outside of the door and they were as rough as sandpaper. Not keeping with normal Porsche quality?? Other moldings on the car wre smooth and consistent. Looks as if they have been clear coated with sand in the finish. Went to my dealer in Ft.Myers, Fl, and all the cabs on his lot were the same way. Anybody aware of what Porsche is doing about this?? https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rtfm.gif

Welcome to the forum, TSG. I am also from swf, in Fort Myers to be exact. This is your first post!!!

Might want to introduce yourself in a first post, lol which I should have done before also.

Members here are very helpful, and they will chime in, my 911 have the chrome trim on the window, I can't compare, but I do see some things and will post later on my 2000 mile break in review.

Mine had a ton of gunk on them. 3M adhesive remover took it right off. Try that.

Same way...but i didn't notice it until about 3 months in. Went back to Porsche of Ft. Myers.....and all 6 Cabriolets on the lot were the same way.....rough as 100 grit sandpaper. Coupes are metal, so they are smooth. 997 models are very smooth rubber, no roughness. Porsche offered to replace them no charge, but I'm waiting for the fix to be released.

Thanks GT3 FANTASY...I live in Bonita Springs....yes a new user and poster, but an old user of Porsches. On my 12th one....currently own 2013 Panamera Platnium Editon and 2014 Red Carrera Cab. Probelms with molding on Cab are numerous, all 991 Cabs on Ft.Muyers lot have rough moldings. Not Coupes, they are metal. TSG

Default Bad clear coat finish.

Florida sErvice Rep looked at mone and offered to replace them at no charge. But the kicker is, the replacemnts may come out the same way. So I'm wiating for the factory to announce a correction. All other models are smooth.....Carreras should be as well. TSG

Could the rough surface be intended, e.g. to alter air flow over the piece and reduce wind noise specific to the cab model?
