I think the Geyser Gray is an interesting color, and I think it's only available on the 50, so that's cool right there. Looks like Chicago is cornering the market on the best looking 911s! ;-)
But one thing that would have been cool would be to have some colors offered like Gulf Blue or even that Kermit The Frog green that were popular back when they were putting checkered cloth in the seats.
Those wild 'M & M' colors came a bit later than what Porsche is trying to celebrate here - 50th Anniversary of the prototype 901 shown at the 1963 Frankfurt Auto Show! Those early 911's pretty much were offered in the same colors of the 356 C models, which continued to be built alongside the new model until the first part of calendar year 1965. The standard color palette for MY1964/1965 was limited to Slate Gray, Ruby Red, Light Ivory, Champagne, Irish Green, Signal Red, Sky or Enamel Blue, plus the special order Dolphin Gray, Togo Brown, Bali Blue and Black! Most of these colors were pretty muted. The only color that was truly 'bright' was 'Signal Red'! It was a few years later that Porsche started offering truly 'wild' colors! At about that time, Porsche built a new paint department in Zuffenhausen which allowed them to experiment quite a bit with colors. Plus these new bright hues & tints reflected the new social & political mood of the era! By MY1970, the year my 911E Targa was custom ordered, Porsche offered 9 standard paint colors and 21 special order colors for any 911 or 914-6! That was Porsche's high-water mark with offered 'wild' colors! As you might remember from the song of the The 5th Dimension, that was the dawning of the age of Aquarius!
