Default Silver Hood Badge for 991

I've seen the silver hood badges for the 997 cars. I see on a couple of sites it specifically states that it does not fit the 991.

Not sure if the curvature of the hood changed or if the attachment hardware changed, but is a silver hood badge available for the 991 yet?

Thanks,

Ryan

No need to go to your dealer. Buy the badge from the ebay links provided. It's very easy to change.

Open the hood and remove black plastic cover. Unscrew nuts with a 8 or 10mm? Be careful doing this when you pull the bolt down through that small hole. You don't wanna drop the nut inside your hood. It helps to have a extension magnet. Once thats done, badge comes right off (no adhesive). Put new badge on with black rubber backing that is included with old badge. Thread on new nuts snug. Put black plastic piece back on. Done

I like the silver hood crests. But, it depends on what center wheel crests you have. In other words, if you have colored wheel crests and a silver hood crest, I don't think that works as well. Black & silver wheel crests with silver hood crest is good-to-go.

You're right. I have the satin platinum wheel for now. I put a piece of smoked clear vinyl over each one so you can't see the gold, but still see the badge. It worked out nice.

I've also seen flat black/satin black hood crests on Porsches. Looks good. Kinda stealthy. Works real well on white and silver cars.
