Here are a few more photos of 1071. Have not driven it too much but based on a few short drives and for someone who has not had a 911 in a long while (last one was a 996MT), its an extremely impressive car. I am very excited about putting some miles on it. |

- Graphite Grey - PDK - PDCC - Powerkit with PSE & Sports Chrono (much angst over Powerkit but 100% happy I went for it!) - Painted headlamp washers (only regret, chrome suits car better) - Black and silver interior with the pepita cloth inserts I really wanted to maximize the beauty of the interior and everything you see and touch from the drivers seat, and so added many extra leather options, even though expensive, and no regrets at all - all looks stunning. - Leather air-vents, the very best of the Porsche exclusive options IMHO, and makes the interior looks so classy. Here they come with deviated stitching automatically at no extra cost and look stunning. - Leather PCM covering, an indulgence to be sure but looks amazing with the leather air-vents and it's something you touch and hence notice in the car all the time. Wonderful. - Leather steering column surround (again with more deviated stitching). - leather instrument surround - Extended leather for dashboard top (has deviated stitching also and looks fabulous from the drivers seat and outside also) - aluminum PDK shifter (original safe in a box for resale / originality). This is a work of aluminum art and beautiful to use and touch. And with the leather air-vents my favorite interior upgrades Stunning car, better to drive than my old 991 C2S and couldn't be happier. I'm convinced the steering has been recalibrated as it's heavier, has loads more feel, and together with the reprogrammed PASM the car seems more lively and 'rear engined' again. More like my old 997 than my last 991. Powerkits kit gives a beautifully linear torque 'curve' all the way to the redline also. Cheers. |

No rattles ... |
Looks great, congratulations! And looks like OPC Mid Sussex? Mine was in the same spot I'm sure just 2 months ago.
|
Nice, according to my guesstimate some 80 or so 50th found their way to GB with less that 20% in Black and I doubt there would be anymore that 1/2 of those with glass sunroof so that makes yours one of 8 (+/-1) in GB. Now doesn't that sound much better than 1963!
|
Black was indeed the only 911_50 that Mid Sussex Porsche had sold, so certainly unique there.
Mondrian - add the fact that mine is manual must make it even more rare ... |
Very nice.
The black leather as opposed to getting houndstooth makes it even more rare! |
How about some interior shots showing the two special colors?
|
PVR, 991 PDK seems to account for 90% of the sales, nostalgic appeal of 50th might push manual percentage a bit higher to 15 or 20% but I wouldn't be surprised if your black manual 50th with glass sunroof was the only one in the country or at most one of 2. We should get a GB registry going so as to pin down the actual numbers.

We should get a GB registry going so as to pin down the actual numbers.
|
How many are there in the UK in total, is that known?
|
599 is the known sales figure for USA & we know worldwide is 1963. I also have Porsche 2013 total sales figures for various continents as well as US, Germany & China figures as well as 911 sales which is 25% of total Porsche sales. 2013 figure for US sales of 911 was 10440 I am guessing less than 500 of which was 50th i.e. 4.5%. Based on those factual figures I estimate around 80 (+/-10%) for GB who have traditionally had a 10% market share of European sales. Graphite seems to be a lot more popular than Geyser and while black is popular too it was not an original option so expect lower numbers than Geyser. Individual figures should be around GG 45, Geyser 20, Black 15 90% of which are PDK (according to Porsche GB salesman, US should be much higher ie x2 or 3 that of UK). Furthermore sunroof, Pepita, SPASM etc will cut those figures down.
There might be 1963 50th cars in the world but I think everyone's 50th will be pretty unique in their state/city/town once you take colour & options into consideration and at a very reasonable price (for such a high performance unique car). Best 911 ever, the unique brightworks, Pepita & amazing performace are the icing on the cake. Well done Porsche. |

|
Sounds about right as Canadian sales for 911 in 2013 came to just over 10% of US sales but US took a higher quota of 50th. I, m guessing that only 20-30% of 50th were delivered in black leather.

Finally 1497 has arrived....here it is with his 50th year old brother a 1963 356

I really want my gt3 but will mis this girl. At this point in time she is the only wide body 2wd 911 you can buy that's open to all options on the Porsche configured option list.......until GTS that is. wolfmobil, 991Wunderbar, outamoney ..... What g/box do you have in your cars?

aspyder: Just picked up Number 1715 from the same dealer! It is replacing a "flaming" 991 GT3.

Mondrian, I got the classic interior, black silver.
Rallyeporsche, congrats on the purchase. Hopefully we'll see you around, I haven't seen another 50th on the road yet. |
aspyder: It will be running at the Golden Gate autocross out at Alameda NAS on Saturday. If you want to run there see Mike H. at Carlsen & he will comp you for the event.

Hi, picked up my 50th a few weeks ago in the UK. My number is 956.

Welcome to Rennlist and congratulations on the car - what colour, g/box, interior trim? Pics would be great too.

Couple of issues. Previous owner specced folding mirrors but would prefer Sport Design mirrors so will get a price to get those retrofitted. Also car has MF steering wheel. I actually quite like it and don't have a problem with it but everyone is telling me to retrofit the Sport Design wheel and stalk. So will look into that also. BUT I like the controls on the wheel at the moment for volume, phone etc. so a bit torn. Car doesn't have Bose but not bothered about that as the standard sound is fine for the radio and music I listen to. |

I may have been mistaken as Solihull rings more bells. Your car was my backup plan when I was looking for the elusive geyser but someone bought it. That car was end 2013 and went for near enough new list price (less option), so I was told. It was the last Graphite I saw for sale and now only a black one left in all of UK (well it was last week anyway).
Come to think of it I think it's the Black one that may have been at Sutton Porsche. |

Come to think of it I think it's the Black one that may have been at Sutton Porsche. Car had 1910 miles when I collected and is on a December 63 plate. I was coming from a 2012 GTR so first thing I noticed was how much faster the GTR is but the 991 is so much more refined, lovely noise, great ride compliance for a daily driver and a much nicer interior. How do you think residuals will pan out for these in the UK? With only 120-150 RHD I hope they do well but then again Porsche keep releasing too many so called limited edition cars. |
Perhaps its a different car then as he took offence to my suggestion (high 80's) and later said it went for asking price (low 90's), he was a bit wet behind the ears though so not sure if reliable info.
Where did you get those 120-150 figures from? I expect RHD car numbers to be far higher, Australia, NZ, Japan, New Zealand, Indoneasia, Singapore, South Africa .... are all RHD. UK alone should account for 100 or so cars so actual number of RHD should be far higher than 120-150. See my thread below, i keep updating the figures so check last page for latest. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8185...olour-pdk.html As for residuals, I will post my thoughts on above thread next week. |

Hong Kong got 6 units only, it went through a management lottery process. You couldn't just walk in and buy it sadly. You have to own a few Porsches before to enter the process.
I am one of the 6 lucky owners, had to pay retail price and no power kit upgrade unless u paid for it :( https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...94939111_n.jpg I think there are two Graphite grey, which I own one and four Geyser Grey cars. |
I love playing hangman? Ok here is goes;
Graphite - MK Geyser - SL Joking aside welcome to the forum & congratulations, by the sound of it your cars in Hong Kong are as cherished as the 12 Club Coupe's that were raffled in similar fashion in states to club members. Sure, the #100 is black exterior colour, only one in Indonesia. Indonesia got 6 units. 3 geyser grey, 2 graphite grey and 1 black. |
Do you know how many 50th cars they had in total, I know of these two and another Geyser only.

I thought it would make more sense to answer your question on this thread. That photo was taken at the PCA Parade at Monterey in June. I saw four 50th Anniversary cars in total attending the Parade. I have three of their numbers. The fourth belongs to Larry A., who is a Rennlister here by the name 'Rallyeporsche'. He is a Golden Gate Region autocross enthusiast. I failed to take the photo of his # because we got into a conversation about his 991, which he had Porsche buy back and got this instead over at Carlsen. Some of you might remember this post:

1) 'Geyser Grey Metallic' was #515. It belongs to Jim M. of the PCA Arizona Region. 2) The 'Black' was I believe #1329 and it belongs to Charles W. of Golden Gate Region. 3)The 'Graphite Grey' must be #1554. And it belongs to Kurt H. of PCA 'Diablo' in Northern California. 4) The other 'Geyser Grey Metallic' at the Parade is not pictured. It belongs to Larry A. of Golden Gate Region. Final three photos are of some of the PCA Parade cars lining up to do their two 'Parade' laps at Laguna Seca! Saludos, Eduardo Carmel . |
Thanks Eduardo, I believe 'Rallyeporsche' has already registered his 1715 on here. Did you manage to make a note of g/box type of the 3 above cars by any chance?

Well speaking of #1715, #1714 just landed in my garage. I am really glad I finally have a registry to be part of for the first time since my 993 Turbo. I got a geyser grey PDK. I have had my TT TWO Gt3s and I could have sworn on my sons lives I would have NEVER bought a auto. But 5 years ago on my way to buy a GT3RS I stopped by my dealer to see the PDK and go on. I stopped and bought the C2S right there on the spot! PDK is GREAT. But I CANT tell you how I am SO GLAD that on this important model Porsche allowed the MT to be had as an option.
I have a standard USA version I paid $10K under MSRP! Came lightly optioned (I was amazed at the star trek enterprise optioned ones out there!!!) PDK, PASM, Seat heating, Luggage net?(wallet net?) SMoking package including ascot and smoking jacket, Light Design package, Sunroof,Bose, Power steering plus, XM, Pedals in AL U minium as they say in the UK.Adaptive Sport Seats (A MUST with a bad bacck) I planned on this 3 years ago and I almost missed the boat on this one. Took 2 months of wearing Wifey down, and then needing a great price. I had a great price on the Graphite. Those are harder to sell here and the Geyser Grey is more desirable in SoCal but they finally relented. Mine was a April build. I ALMOST Got a 991 GT3 with a bad motor Porshce was going to send off and get back but they wanted 20K OVER MSRP after it came back!! I Spent 3 hours in my 997 then the 50th, Boy it sure made mine feel old!!! |
Mondrian, first of all I want to thank you and congratulate you on your hard and thorough work.
But I didnt see, did you compile the differences between the different countries packages? Like the USA gets the power kit. I noticed that our cars have a VERY cool mini aerokit. The front dam and the side skirts and the BEST non GT3 wing EVER on a 911 in my opinion!!!!! Did they all get the aerokit? |
Delete
|
Bacura, My point was that as far as the deployable rear wing or spoiler goes the 991 is the best design I have seen. The rear decklid spoiler that is on the 997 and older cars is just ancient looking. Its been that same design since the 964?
I just think the NEW design for the deployable wing is just awesome!! |
Nice touch from Porsche Canada! A month or so ago they courier me the big 911 x 911 Edition Porsche Museum book. Then today I receive a big box with my Certificate of Authenticity (Birth Certificate) suitable for framing along with an aluminum pylon with the Porsche crest, my name, my car and the Vin, a discount gas card for 94 octane fuel, and a few other tokens of appreciation. Very nice!

The front dam and the side skirts and the BEST non GT3 wing EVER on a 911 in my opinion!!!!! Did they all get the aerokit? There is no aero pack included in 50th but the rear engine vent is different as its vents are similar to the classic ones right down to the chrome accents. Thefront spoiler is same as 991 but with chrome accents on the side intakes & sportDesign steering wheel & wing mirror is also standard on 50th unless you specify folding mirror option and heated steering wheel. The X51 engine power pack is only standard on north American market and the rest of the world could have it as an optional extra! As far as I know apart from that there was no difference. Each country did have a choice of "50th edition" optional extra which one had to pay for, here in UK this package included; Sport Chrono package, Telephone module, f&r park assist & heated seats. I am not sure if it was uniform across the world but the few markets I checked here in Europe seemed to be same. I am sure there were regional varieties as I can't imagine heated seats in middle east! |
I am sorry Mondrian. I was so excited about the registry I didint put down all the details. I was trying to remember that 1715 had just registered before I did and that I had regular Sunroof (not in glass) interior in Agate Grey/Geyser grey.
Man that sucks that the ROW did not get the power kit. I hope that the price was reflective of that. What about the side skirts? regular 991 also? Because its a nice little aero pak if you ask me. VERY much more thought out than the 997.2 Again I cant tell you how much I appreciate all the WORK you have done putting all this together!!! It is SO interesting to know about this group of cars!!!! I need to change my sig!! |
Thanks. The side skirts are also standard but it does sit 10mm lower (optional on 991) so maybe that's what makes it look a tad sportier.
In UK 50th base price without the X51 was Ł92k which is around $157k - German prices were even higher (+10%) - Chinese prices were around $330k. If you wanted X51 here in UK you would have to pay around $170k. I assume the reason for low US prices is lower sales tax (its 19-20% here in Europe) and also US market share (nearly 1/3 of all 911 cars are sold to USA). |
Mon,
I wish everyone had the same opportunity. But man its SO nice to own a exclusive 911. |
PDK vs. Manual and value
I have a source deep inside Porsche racing. The source doesnt work FOR Porsche but rather works WITH Porsche and develops parts for racing teams. Both Company teams and self sponsored teams. This doesnt mean what the source says is written in stone nor does it mean the source is never wrong. BUT the source has never been wrong with my questions.
I asked the source if with the wild popularity of the PDK would the Manual be a more rarified pick on this car. The sources response was not what I expected but here it is: "The internals of the PDK and the Manual are exactly the same. So really there is no difference in either tranny except for the way the shift is initiated. The Manual is the same 7 speed box that is inside the PDK." I thought the source was going to give me a pick one over the other and NO the source did not. |
911 50th the best
|
For Mondrian , mine is a right hand drive( UK specs imported into Asian countries) 50th Anniversary no 1287 Geyser Gray in Black leather.
PDK, no sunroof, power steering plus , no power kit , full led headlight , sport steering wheel |
Thanks, which country? Also was the car purchased from local Porsche dealer or actually from Porsche GB and imported?
|
I recently purchased Nr. 1623 after almost 20 years without a 911 and spending a lot of time here on Rennlist (thanks) and elsewhere to bring myself up to date. Just a fantastic car. Haven't spent much time in it yet but it's light years ahead of where I left off.

Thanks OldGuy.
The 911_50 had just been delivered to Braman in W. Palm Beach FL on a dealer swap when I stopped by looking for an otherwise plain PDK + Powerkit 991 (apparently a mythical machine). I'm usually not impressed with special edition/anniversary anything but I had not seen or driven a 911_50. I was impressed - everything so tastefully done but not overdone....well maybe the badging on the rear deck but it's growing on me. Performance wise, expectations exceeded and still just breaking it in. My last 911, an Italian market '74 Carrera with the 2.7L mechanical injection motor as in the '73 RS, was the most entertaining car I had owned and I still miss driving it. But this car, bigger and maybe 800 lbs heavier is faster, easier to drive and just as much fun. It's a keeper. Price: I tried, but no big discount. Dealer knocked off a couple $1000 to make me feel better. I'm still feeling pretty good. |
1561 - important stats are
Geyser Grey, Blacks & Silver pepita interior, PDK, SportDesign steering wheel & side mirrors No sunroof, no rear wiper. |
When are you collecting?!
|
I have already. Took the scenic 200 mile route back via Cotswolds water park.

DP. Sorry
|
Nice, bet it was worth the wait.
|
Actually the wait wasn't too bad, I was too busy with work (being away) and the stats took up all my free time. It was a great week that started with a visit to Autofarm on Monday followed by Historit on Tuesday and collection from OPC on Wednesday. Highlight was definitely the roads around the Waterpark, getting behind the wheel of a + Ł200K 911S & Ł600K 2.7RS at autofarm was a close 2nd though.
I even got the first compliment from a Jag XK owner who said the car was the most beautiful 911 he had ever seen. |
Mondrian -- thank you for your efforts with compiling the 50th model details. This 911 is the best I've driven (997.1 GT3, 997 911 GTS, 997 911 Turbo S).
Exterior: Graphite Grey Interior: Black/Dark Silver Cloth (Pepita) Transmission: 7M Full LED headlights Park assist front and rear Sunroof PASM Automatically dimming mirrors Heated seats Luggage net passenger footwell Smoking package Key painted car color Power steering plus Bose Adaptive Sports Seats Plus (18 way) Fuel cap w/Aluminum Look |
Mondrian, why is your car number so low? I have had mine since May and mine is 1835.
|
Car has been sitting at OPC since early June as I was out of the country and so unable to collect but it was registered 31st July so possibly the last registered 50th in UK. Build date is probably late winter or early spring as car was already in Porsche GB possession in May when I found it.
|
Had my # 1715 in Monterey last weekend. Won first in class at the PCA Werkes Reunion Concours on Friday, first in class at the PCA Zone 7 autocross on Saturday then let it have a rest in the Porsche Corral at Laguna Seca on Sunday. No time or money to attend the auctions!
|
My car is a loaner while waiting for my Gt3, but I must say I will miss her. Do you think they will do a 991GTS variant that has a wide body, 2wd with the power kit. My car has every option you could stuff on one #723, so I'd like to get access again to the configurama software and build the perfect Gt car. The options just don't exist on a gt3 which is fine, but my 50 is sublime. I'm really surprised how recognized as a special car my 50 is even in a sea of much more pricey metal.

Mondrian might have a more complete list with all the stats he's been keeping, but I thought I'd compile the information in this thread into a spreadsheet.
Feel free to correct anything I've gotten wrong and add yourself if you haven't already. Not sure if this can be added to OP. And if mods think this spreadsheet should be rehosted on something other than Google Drive, feel free to take the spreadsheet and move it. This was all for the community. Richard |
Looks good Richard. Thanks.
|
Richard,
One correction. Car listed as 1160 is actually 1116, and it is located in miami, FL. All else is good. Thanks, Jmirandes |
jmirandes,
Thanks. Corrected. I changed the access so anyone can also edit in case there are additions or other errors. Richard |
Richard have you worked your car in the sport plus mode and have you had a chance to compare it to an S without the powerkit? Anyone?
|
I normally drive my car in sport plus mode, but have not driven it back-to-back with a non-powerkit S for comparison.

Men sad day Monday. I will be turning in my 50 loaner car and picking up my GT3. I have thouroughly enjoyed this car and regret turning her in. I put 10k on her and everybody loved the 50 everywhere she went and she never got lost in a sea Porsches. I'd take a 50 over a gts anyday of the week.

It's currently quoted at 135,000 euro. Not sure how this compares to the MSRP in Europe. It's a reasonably good spec.

MSRP in Belgium was 125K Euro back in May 2013, that is: completely stock, not a single option
|
I think we are seeing the same trend all over as used prices in UK & US are also on par with new & in some cases even a little more.
|
New member on Rennlist; not an owner (yet..)
I took the liberty to add 13 cars to the spreadsheet; all of which is - or have been - for sale in the last few months in Europe. I have 5 more cars on my personal spreadsheet, but no LENs on those. Regards, Řrjan (in Norway) |
Welcome to the forum Orjan. That's great I must cross check them against the ones I have on file which should be around 20% of production by now. So great to see guys like you and Richard keeping tabs too.
|
On the Belgian Porsche site the 50th ann. is still configurable...
So, still not sold out? |
Have you checked that with Porsche in order to verify?
|
BTW past the 30 mark so definitely more than 30 in Belgium and at least 3 black ones Bart!

Unfortunately Mondrian, I've only seen the three I took a picture of, which I posted here. Hard to spot one here in Belgium.
Went to Porsche Paradis in Saint Tropez (France) and only saw one Jubi on the parking lot (but forgot to take notes ) But no, I didn't verify with the dealer. |

So is it 5 or 6 cars in HK? My Porsche sales was unable to confirm me, he said 5-6 cars in Hong Kong. As of now, I have been only been able to spot 5 cars (4 X Geyser Grey, 2 X Graphite Grey). I am sorry that I am to give you a definite answer. |

Nice track toy MCX, where do you play?
|
Tried the 991 at Brands Indy, which was quite damp and I didn't want to end up in the wall along the start/finish straight and the car was quite new so was going relatively carefully. Took the caterham to Hethel with the Lotus on track guys.. was great fun, i thoroughly recommend their days, everyone was pretty sensible and fair. They do allow Porsches on their days too, but those Lotus are sneakily quick on track!

How do I register my car (#308). Indeed, I enjoy greatly this Forum, and, as a a new 911-50 owner (and an old 356 owner, and former Ferrari FF owner), I look forward to messaging. How do I post a picture? Regards to all.

Welcome to the forum, you can just post the car details here. As for pics, there is a picture frame on top of the message box, click on that and follow instructions.

Thank you for your replies. I just added my car to the register.
This car is fantastic, so much easier to drive than the FF I used to have before, even with two wheel drive. I love this feeling of being pushed by the engine in the back. I am still in the learning phase, familiarizing myself with the PDK (much less "clonks" than in the Ferrari but, still some when you lift your foot off the gas pedal too rapidly, a little bit disappointing since I hope there would be none, but I understand this is unavoidable, and one must be soft with one's right foot!). Nice a second "VD" plates fellow here.
So you bought the car, that was for sale with 17'000km at PC in Crissier? |
I am planning a driving trip over to Geneva next end of June/early July - will be fun to hook up with you Vaud plated guys for a spin in your neck of the woods.
|
Actually the registration is in VS. I bought the car end of October in Aargau (hence the trip through passes in Berner Oberland on the day of delivery), it was brand new (5klms), the owner of the garage (Porsche Zentrum Konstantin) initially bought it with the intention of keeping it for himself, but later changed his mind due to lack of parking space, at least, this is what I was told (but very nice people at this garage). Actually the car is now parked in Geneva, since I travel extensively and I am based in London, but I always long to fly back there just to drive the car (next time week-end of the 12th!). My wife and children tease me saying that it is my Dinky Toy (actually for me this car is like a toy). I came late to the brand (I used to be more with Maserati / Ferraris), but I now am hooked to Porsche. I have two other Porsches, but, unfortunately I don't use them very often (one is a 1959 356 Roadster, now sitting with Tanner, finishing body restoration, and a 1957 Carrera 1500GS, now with Maxted Page, finishing four cam engine rebuilt). Hope we'll have the opportunity to meet.
|
Great idea, especially if LSV agrees… We can take to nice roads in the Jura above Lausanne…

Received my 50th last weekend. Series # 1180. Love my new car.
|
Got out into the Black Forest this morning for pre-sunrise drive. The car is amazing! Love the manual transmission! The Sport Plus mode with auto rev matching on downshift is very cool. The auto dim bright lights are spot on as far as timing. The Sports Exhaust is a great sound and the family digs it. Part of the drive was on A81 south of Stuttgart with no speed limit. I cruised between 100 and 125 mph and it was amazing. Looking forward to getting the summer tires installed after winter is over and having a dry road to see what 150+ mph is like.
One thing I noticed was that in normal mode, the oil temp hovers around 225. If I select sport or sport plus, the oil them drops to about 200 after a few minutes. I know engaging these two modes opens the front center oil cooler, but should the normal oil temp in regular mode be about 225 on a 55 degree day? Guess I'll dig into the manual this afternoon. Spent a few hours with it sitting in the car yesterday trying all the capability out. Car goes in to the local dealer on Friday to get the Euro Maps installed and change the oil as it is just short of a year since the car was put in service...cheap insurance. Thanks for the heads up on the Euro Bumpers and clear LEDs...I'll take a look! Sidviscious7, great color selection! |
Some nice looking 50's. Congrats guys.
Oil temp around 225 normal in regular mode. |
Thanks for the compliment and the info on oil temp...

Had an amazing Black Forest Drive this morning. Got home to Stuttgart and we had an unexpected, intense snow storm.
How do you cap this day off? Simple, after the snow quickly melted, I took the 1988 911 out for a spirited run through some local back roads. Here are some pictures including the latte macchiato I enjoyed at a small bakery on the edge of the forest on my way back home to Stuttgart. Classic shot of the 991 and the Cayman covered in snow just a few minutes after getting home. |
Great shot of the cars in the snow. We don't get much here in Santa Barbara! And the more you drive the car, the more you'll enjoy the MT. Enjoy!

Thank you. Yes, you are right, it is the rear logo. Looking at the car, I thought it will be nice to make some “improvements”. This is the first and the easiest, since all I had to do is to order the standard parts from the factory and install them.

Thank you it was even greater than awesome.
The good health wishes are actually very actual. After the curvy roads of Majorca the suspension has started to click and we had to make detour (you can see it on the map) for the service to Zurich. Doctor’s diagnose – the new rear suspension replacement and new rear tires. On the photo you can see the reason for it - the G-force measure on this road, actually later on in France it was even higher 1,13 and 1,09 accordingly .The G-force screen is great. At first I didn't understand why they install it, but later I couldn't take my eyes of it. I recommend to try it, if you haven’t done it yet. Where can I see yours car photos?

The only way Porsche wheels should be. Looks great. IMO if you're going to rock the unpainted badges, the badge on the hood should be unpainted as well. I think that would look OK. |

The Amber side markers look great on the GG car. The splash of color provides contrast. Those color center caps look great....hmmm...
|
Thanks to all your responses. DaveGee the windows are tinted all around. The windshield is also tinted. I must also confess i purchased the car with the windows tinted. I too also love the tint. I'm not too crazy about the tint job on the windshield (calif. law - ;-(), but will live with it for now. I do enjoy the fact there is a lot less glare in the interior. BTW, the hubcaps were extremely reasonable. I ordered them on ebay, $17.99 including shipping and no sale tax. The cap outside diameter is 77mm, and very easy to install/remove. YES 77 Tony I'm saving the OEM caps. As a matter of fact I used the same shipping box for the color crest caps to store my original caps. I don't plan on changing anything else on the car. The only other add-on is the Xpel clear bra on the front-end, headlights, front markers, sideview mirrors and rear quarter panels.

Updated the spreadsheet with car #1928 - a unused/unsold Graphite PDK for sale in Porsche Center Helsinki (Finland). The dealer also has car #1910 - also unused/unsold... Seems a bit strange that they haven't sold yet. #1910 is a very well optioned car - it even has the powerkit, which is quite rare in europe.

SURREAL !
So I picked up my "50 Jahre 911" yesterday from Brian Harris Porsche in Baton Rouge. Low optioned car, 7121 miles, manual transmission, Geyser Grey, Agate Grey leather int. Now during the whole buying process (4 visits to the dealership including 2 test drives) I never once thought to check the LE#. Now I'm driving the car for half an hour, stopped at a red light, studying all the fine interior details, and finally I look at the placard on the dash. I'm am blown away by what I see. Could not believe it..
It's 912/1963 This is my seventh Porsche. 41 years ago my first was a '68 Porsche 912. Colors (both current 911 50th and my 1st 912) are as pictured in the Anniversary brochure, page 12. So now I have to start on a quest to get another 912 and have the matched pair just like the brochure pictures on pages 11-12 and 26-27. Anybody know who has LE 911/1963 ? |
What an amazing catch - good things come to good people.
IIRC 1963 went to Far East, 911 Porsche family (guess) & 50 was seen at Zuffenhausen ... We discussed the LE number and some locations on this thread ... Probably half way through. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8185...olour-pdk.html |

I don't know what he's smoking but I want some :corn:

It must be the colour Bart!
Mind you its the only one for sale in mobile.de so he can probably price it whatever he likes - I haven't seen any come up for sale in UK for past few months either. |

There's also a Graphite/PDK with only 200kms for sale in Mobile.de. Car is in Slovakia (Bratislava) and is advertised for €148K.
In the last few months, the number of 50ths for sale has gone from a dozen+ to just 2 to 4 - and the prices are not going down; at least not the advertised price. An example; A Graphite grey in Sweden was advertised for SEK1250000 when new, and was advertised again after 4 months with 12000kms With same price; and was sold within a week. On the other end of the scale is a Black/7MT/9000kms for sale in Denmark for "just" €90K - but Black/Black leather may not be a perfect combo for a 50th.. |
"In the last few months, the number of 50ths for sale has gone from a dozen+ to just 2 to 4 - and the prices are not going down; at least not the advertised price."
Yes I have noticed this too. Plus it seems like not too many were made with the 7 speed manual. |
In Europe, hardly any - less than 10% but more in states, guess around 20%.
I think what is helping the price is the expected transformation of N/A to Turbo as well as the price of other limited edition models such as GT3 .... There was a new RS 4 on mobile.de for €400k. |
Seems that a few owners are trying to make a profit these days... Here are cars for sale in Europe at the moment;

i know your post is only meant with good intentions 50th wheels and colour remain exclusive the targa project was actually inspired and created in mayfair which went on to gain exclusive approval from there, netherlands, italy and a few other countries joined in. in total, 10 per country for 5 countries a great project and i am delighted

New member to the 50th club
Good morning (from Germany)!
Just wanted to add a new car to the registry... ...which also happens to be my new car:rockon: After 6 months of looking for a 50th anniversary edition, I found number 0926: - black, which was a must for me. My 911 are always black (non-metallic) - pepita interior of course - PDK - sunroof - a couple of smaller stuff; nothing spectacular in regards to the options - the way i like it I am super happy that I found this vehicle and also that I got a fair price from the Porsche Center here in Germany... Especially if you look at the prices stated for the currently offered 5 Anniversary editions here in Europe... they are all priced from 170 - 230k EUR, which I think is way too much. But for me this is ok :) That would mean that my new baby already increased its value by min ~30%. Will post pictures in a second. Best! |

Two Jubi's got sold in Belgium.
Both PDK, both about 23K kms and both Graphite Grey. First one sold for 169K Euro's, the second one only lasted a week and a half before being sold at 199K  |
Wow, that's quite a premium over what 911_50's are going for in the US. More like the USD$128k range. And US cars have the X51 motor.

This is a registry thread, so you discuss options, buy, register on here and that's it. Of course you could start a different thread for whatever you want to do to the car but why change perfection!

Bacura - Probably a good forum topic. No doubt plenty of opinions - as usual.
>Is the 50th anything special and worth keeping? Discuss. At least it has an edition number.< But as Mondrian pointed out, better to post the question in the main forum - this thread is just a registry. Looking forward to the debate... DaveGee |

I couldn't be happier with my manual 50th. I was worried that I oversold it to myself, but it has simply met or exceeded everything I had hoped it would be. Good luck!
|
I am glad everyone has their 50th and I thought about trading mine for a new GT3 but now I think after having my 50th for 2 years its a keeper. Especially since values are staying strong. But as far as a manual, I am glad you guys like them, but after a 6 speed 993TT that was tracked out, a Manthey 996 GT3 6 speed and a 997.1 GT3 there is no need to shift anymore. The PDK is the best thing tecnological I can think of. The ONLY reason I can think of having a manual would be to continue to test myself at the track which I have already done(been there done that). With the PDK you wont be faster at the track. I now do rallies with my local PCA and having not to shift in traffic AND have a performance edge and the PDK is the way to go. But JPMD has the answer the PDK GT3 and a manual 50th.

Washington, DC Graphite Grey Pepita Houndstooth 7MT Painted Sunroof Base Sound System (only real complaint) Mod: Frunk Liner (that crab leakage story scared the heck out of me) Life-long car guy, first Porsche... knew I had to have the 50th as soon as I saw it, took forever to find a 7MT in Graphite. Found one with 1200 miles, have it up to 2800 miles in 4 months. Fun story, drove it to DC from buying it in NC, went to the DMV to register it, and proceeded to drive over a granite curb turning into a parking spot, these things are really wide! Porsche of Arlington did a great job repairing the scuffed rim, and my bruised ego. Leading up to this: 72 VW Beetle 93 300ZX Convertible (with an auto, swore I'd never do that again with a sports car) 00 Audi A4 2.8 5MT 00 Land Rover Discovery (still going strong) |

Very nice. Congrats Love seat backs in leather and rear wiper. |
Thanks JPMD! We've had the car for a couple of years now and it only gets better everyday. I love the look and practicality of the rear wiper. The only "mod" I've made is switching out the orange turn signal side-markers to the European standard clear lens.
|
Mish, I'll keep an eye out for you... hard to believe there are two 7MT Graphites in DC. Good luck avoiding the potholes!

DMA, I think I've seen your car in Georgetown and maybe at Katie's Cars & Coffee. Were you in that area? We love our car and are transporting it to Denver for a glorious SW drive (Denver-Ouray-Durango-Santa Fe-Simpson, AZ-Grand Canyon-Zion-Bryce-Moab-Aspen-Denver) in the Fall (9/23 - 10/9). Yup, we're logging some miles on our 50th! I think Ferdinand would've wanted it that way.

I am seriously considering buying a geyser grey 50th. Have until tomm to buy. Are there any negatives at all? I have the fever bad and am trying to do my due diligence.
|
The 911/50 has met every expectation I had. I bought mine 6 months used sight unseen from a US dealer and had it shipped to Germany. During that almost 8 week wait as it made it's way overseas, I was afraid it might not live up to expectations because I had been wanting a new 911 since I was a kid. It was everything I hoped for and more. Best purchase I've ever made.
Try to get a CPO if possible and inspection. Best of luck. |
Its warrantied till 2020 by Porsche. Im just a little hesitant cause of the money at stake. Im thinking it will hold value well as theres only 1500 or so around.

I too purchased my 50th sight unseen. She was only eight months old with 700 miles. She came fully loaded and I do not regret one day. Yes, she was a lot of money, but like many on this forum, there is a common piece of advice, " You only live once!" Enjoy life.
|
I have owned my 911 50 for just over three years and absolutely love it! I am so glad that I got the Geyser paint as it totally distinguishes the car and is always the first point of discussion no matter where I go. It is a great car to drive so I don't think you will be disappointed. Just do it!

Came away relatively unscathed after striking a deer this morning in the Black Forest. Very thick fog so was only going about 10-15 mph when out of the fog I see a deer just standing in the middle of the road. Dove for the brakes and it bounced off the front of the car to the left side and ran for the tree line. Appeared to be moving without injury. Only damage was a piece of plastic missing from my front license plate frame. No other damage. Just shows that 50th Anniversary Editions are stronger than deer. A regular 991 would have been totaled.
|
You are one lucky guy! Glad you were unhurt and the damage to the car was minimal. Go buy a lottery ticket...

Points, enjoy your new ride. It will put a smile on your face every time you walk out and see it. Welcome to the 911-50 side...
|
Thank you. It's a piece of art in my garage. At the gas station folks coming over admiring the color. Got a bottle wine for the Mrs. and their walking up to me in the parking lot. I didn't expect this.
|
A good wine during a nice sunset with your wife sitting next to you outside watching the sun reflecting from your new 911-50 during a sunset. Life is great enjoy.... Your one lucky guy.....

Drove quite a bit this weekend. Jesus what a car. Its going to take some time to study and use all the nice extras. The color on this car changes depending on ambient light and whether darkish or light its still incredible. Close up study of the paint shows thousands of small metallic bits...something Ive never seen before.
On the road the acceleration is fantastic. And I had a souped up mustang messing with me on the way home as well. I figure thats going to happen often from now on. |
Have a manual graphite on the way. Joining the club. Will post when it arrives!
|
Jamvr10, welcome to the club. Another graphite gray. What number is yours?

|
No issues with my engine cover...but I rarely open it.
|
No issues at all. Warranty ending soon tho
|
Just had my rear engine cover struts replaced last week. Javmvr10, welcome and enjoy your new ride.

Left Champion this morning. Service guy says many 2014 991 have strut problems. Hood as well.

But not a 911-50th ...

Man... I'm starting to want one of these more than the 991.1 GTS I've been looking for...

I was all in on a gts until I saw the 50th. Never looked back. Would have always regretted not getting the 50th. It's perfection. And the graphite grey is the best color ever! It looks almost green/grey in the daylight. |

Could not believe it..t
Yes, anyone have questions on this car, PM me for contact info.

Congrats! I'm seriously looking at one that's more of a minimal build but still ticks all my "must-haves." Just out of curiosity, what was the going price for yours above MSRP?
