Spoke to the dealer. He told me that I am literally burning rubber during these spirited drives and I shouldn't be worried. We'll see how this goes!

If you are still following break-in, keep her under 4,000 rpm; I do not see how you can burn rubber driving on residential streets as you stated.
Did you turn off PSM and do donuts?
I do not see how the dealer can diagnose a smell over the phone (assuming they did not see the car).
