Alex/Dan,

Any updates on the dyno results for the side muffler bypass? It appears the bumper needs to come off for this modification, based on the first photo. Is that right? Thanks for any further info.

I'll ping ze EVOMS guys on this Keeping it indie if you will... Actually we just did another installation yesterday:
http://sharkwerks.com/porsche/991-ca...s-exhaust.html

It's pretty simple and does NOT require any bumper removal. But it is aggressive/loud and not for the feint hearted!

Just a final update to let you know that we installed our first production unit last week on a 3.4L local car. This exhaust replaces just the center muffler with our CNC mandrel bent tubing and OEM-sized tubing for maximum flow with minimal side effects. The simple system reduces weight on the rear of the car and gives a 50-state emissions compliant option for those looking to get a bit more grunt without check engine lights or problems.

The stock exhaust is removed and weighed:

And the Shark Werks pipe:

A savings of almost 8 lbs, right where you want it most.

And a few minutes later our pipe is installed:

More information about this exhaust is available here.

Made a new video of a 3.8 c2s w/ PSE + Sharkwerks bypass. I included a "cold start" sound bite as well, and IMO it is not as loud as I expected which is good. The overall sound is basically the same as PSE just louder. Props to Sharkwerks for making a quality product with absolutley no fitment issues, direct bolt in / plug and play installation.

Just to throw it out there - I have a set of Sharkwerks bypass pipes for a 3.8L S - plus the 3.8L center muffler - if someone is looking to put this type of set up on a base 3.4L car. Bolts right on!

Are you talking about the center X Pipe that eliminates the center muffler?

On my base 3.4L I switched my base center for a 3.8L S center - so I could then take off the side mufflers and bolt the SWerks bypass pipes right on. I had to use the S tips also which I have.

That's awesome. I really appreciate the "chill mode" part of the video that is often neglected. I always wonder what it sounds like at idle.

About how many hours would this take a dealer to install?

It depends how they are installed. I did mine myself with a floor jack and only taking off the rear wheels. I'd say it took me 45mn Max, thanks to the DIY thread I read before hand. The dealer might remove the rear bumper which would be easier but not necessary.

The complete exhaust looks like a deranged wind instrument.
