You are right - too many variables. Do I have a better chance getting better steering feel with regular steering vs power steering plus? Is is just that the low speed assistance is greater in power steering plus?

Yes, the powersteering plus only works when driving slow. For example when parking. It doesn't make any difference when driving fast. But the steering in the 991 is really not as bad as some people want to make you believe. It's precise and has enough weight in it. Only when you drive a 991 and a 997 back to back, you feel that the 997's steering wheel dances in your hands when driving inspired, where the 991's steering wheel feels more "relaxed" and gives you maybe a bit less information. But honestly, it's just fine!

THe steering feel is just fine.

Why all the fuss, just because reviewers say its not good. They are not long enough in the cars to really get in tune with the cars responses. Or are they ?

^^^This.

Riz, I would personally save the $270 for the PSP option unless you think that steering effort while parking is too great.

And I personally think I could feel it too when I was driving them back to back... But not completely sure about it.

Ok, so I'm no expert driver and haven't taken either on the track, but I did all of my test drives (5 or 6 of them) in a C4S, but after collecting and driving my C2S for the last few weeks I couldn't tell any difference in the drive or steering.

Personally I think a correct seating position will do more for feeling what your car is doing than any steering rack tweak.
But obviously I'm no pro driver so I could be missing something as to me stock steering is more than ok.

How the hell does PSP work? A very low speeds the ECU tells the electric motor to increase boost, so its just software. So am I to understand that P claims this as a option and therefore charging for it? WTF.

Also, the steering feel in the "old" 997 platform was sublime. I would rate it a "10". Its in this context where the 991's feel is lacking. I especially miss it at the track. Still when compared to others E steering systems I have driven P's is the best.
