So here's a comparison at 3500 rpm where I could get a good measurement on the graphs, 991S X51 making 380 Nm, GT3 making 330 Nm. Pretty close to the widest separation in the torque curves. Torque to the ground is higher in the GT3 across 2nd through 7th gear.

I went to the dealer today to start to pick-up the old parts of the X51 upgrade. Parts were all over but the chief mechanic said we are done with the engine and just need to put it back, should be ready by this wednesday...

That certainly does look like a lot of work, full engine removal and top end swap.
Looking forward to hearing your observations upon completion. Did you log any dyno #'s, 0-60s or quarter miles with the original parts?

Wow, I didn't realize there were so many parts associated with the power kit.....To my knowledge no one has been successful in dynoing a 911 with PDK. I've got the power kit (directly from the factory) with PDK and was curious about the rear wheel horse power as well.

Very cool. Please make a new thread with your impressions of the PowerKit and added 30 HP. Will it require any break-in period? Thanks.

Yes I will let you know how this baby handles after I got it back. Apparently Porsche Germany sent more parts in emergency 2 times (wrong and missing) and we lost a week. One interesting new piece is the upper box now nicely done in metal versus the all plastic original part picture 2 old and picture 3 new.

I do not have a picture of the re-tune DME , picture 6 above you can see the original plastic cover (lower right), in the picture below the center radiator was already in place when I visited the shop.

My baby is back: 2013 911 C4S - X51
After 3 weeks +, I picked up the car this morning, dealer is closed on Saturday but the service manager came just to deliver the car to me. The X51 does not come with the PSE dash button (always on in Sport and Sport +). I also added the button separately (i will post on that later on). Let's do some math now. See below both config
1) http://www.porsche-code.com/PEYJ6YZ7
The way I bought the car at the dealer + X51 upgrade including installation = $147,633
2) http://www.porsche-code.com/PEJ4Q9N7
Built new with X51 from the factory = $146,870
I am more than happy with the result. The change is worth every $ for me. I struggle to describe the difference I think the best way to give you an idea is this one. Before X51 I had 3 modes, normal (I did not like it, still much much better than the 991 S cabriolet I bought last year), Sport and Sport Plus.
With X51 I have still 3 modes but more like: Sport, Sport + and Sport ++.
The engine rev and breathe so much better all the way, I believe that you need the PDK to enjoy it and avoid to get into the rev limiter each time! the last 1500 rpm is so fast. Again Porsche is more than conservative with the numbers...
I can now drive the car in normal mode and enjoy it! This C4S has so much grip that the 400hp felt not enough, with the X51 it is the perfect match
I am so glad I did it.

Everything I have read on here seems to be spot on with what we have found.
1. Power Kit comes with ported, CNC machined cylinder heads.
2. Power Kit comes with a new manifold for the active intake runner design.
3. Power Kit comes with a center 3rd radiator.
4. Should require a re-flash.
This 991/981 generation Power Kit is very robust relative to years past. It has true porting, a more aggressive camshaft AND a variable length intake runner that slams open at 5K when you really really need it.
For those of you that have tried this motor, don't hold back. Please share with the rest of the world that the Power Kit motor on a manual transmission 7-speed 991 S really is a nice substitute when you can't get a manual GT3 in North America.
