All in all, a great package that I would jump on were I not getting a GT3. Just my 2 cents...
Well that certainly makes me feel better about the purchase! Thanks!

Just found out today my build will be somewhere from January to May 2014 for Western Canada. Won't have to store it for the winter as it will be a spring delivery. Canada getting 50 & 27 sold to date, although there may be more, just not in the system yet.

I am in central Canada. My car is also slated for production in October and delivery in December. Sadly, I will have to store it for a few months before driving it.

On another note, i did some research into paint to sample option. Historically, Porsche has offered this option on a few 30th Anniversary models. They however, did not get all the cosmetic anniversary edition changes and also did not get the plaque with production number. So, even if someone gets PTS, it will likely be a late production car without some of special features. I wonder if it even be worthwhile ordering such a car.

My car is graphite with black/silver interior, manual transmission, heated seats, rear wiper, 18 way seats, dimming mirrors, metal sunroof and park assist. Any comments?

Nice, but please no rear wiper - it destroys the rear design imho.

So nothing over the top, pretty basic.

The 911_50 would give me full leather interior with 14-way seats and PSE for the extra R150k - which is not a bad deal, but since I had already decided not to spend money on those options, is it really worth taking it for the extra price? I must admit, I do like the wider "C4S" track at the back.
So just wanted to update the thread, I picked up my car about 3 weeks ago, sadly have only had a chance to put approximately 500km on the clock, but damn have they been good ones!

I am definitely happy I didn't wait for the 911_50, everytime I walk into my garage I feel like a kid on Christmas morning!

I'm sure when I see my first "in-the-flesh" 911_50 sometime next year I'll have a touch of regret, but for now I'm VERY happy. What a car!

This seems to be a trend as I got an updated schedule too moving my 991-50 forward towards mid September. We'll see how this finally will go out...

I placed a deposit at my dealer approximately a month ago. Was told December delivery. But not a lot of communication since then, other than "we're still waiting to hear about allocation". Anyone know how much pull an individual dealer has to get "an allocation"?

I hate it when dealers give a date, when they don't even have a confirmed allocation.

No alloc, no car build in progress.

I don't think dealers have any pull for the 50th.
It is my impression that most, if not all, US dealers are still waiting for allocation information.
My dealer is transparent about this and has informed me that they will learn of allocation and build dates no early than October.
I too think that it is unfortunate that dealers attempt to get business based on factitious information.
Makes one look elsewhere for future business.

Yeah, it's a bit frustrating. I think if they had set expectations from the outset along the lines of "we may not hear for awhile and you might have to be patient" I would have been a bit more pleased. But I get the feeling they just don't know. Which is a bit strange in and of itself. You would think Porsche management would give the dealers some guidelines since they effectively stoked the fire with their campaign. Oh well. Not the end of the world.

I agree. It is however masterful marketing to release information and create increasing demand. However, I do not think that this was necessary with a more limited car like the 50th.
Again, it is very frustrating that dealers, perhaps including the sponsor of this site, are providing less than accurate information. No need for that!
