How many miles should be on a custom-order pickup?
Sorry if this topic has been covered before but I could not find any information on it.
I am picking up my 991 factory-order in about 1 week. I suppose it goes without saying, when you order a 991, you don't want it being test driven by other customers or the dealer staff before you pick it up. For example, a customer walks in wanting to drive a C4S Cab PDK and the customer-order that is awaiting pickup happens to be the only such configuration. Or alternatively, if you are the dealer, why not put some miles on a sold-car/customer-order rather than your dealer stock, if you think the customer will not know that the extra 5 miles was from a test drive.
And if the break-in procedure was flagrantly ignored in the process I doubt the dealer will make a point of letting you know (please see video example:
)
Therefore, how many miles should one expect on their custom-order 991 when picking it up? Or if you have picked up a custom-order of your own, could you post the mileage of your car when you picked it up and whether you have any insight as to whether it was driven unnecessarily beforehand?
Thanks

Mine was a custom order and had 5 miles on it. I know for a fact when it got off the truck to the dealer ensuring no customer test drives. Maybe the 5 miles were put there at the plant somewhere. Others in this board probably know more.

Mine had 6.8 when I received it. Part of those miles included gassing up the car and the other was to place the car into an offsite storage area while waiting for the shipping company to pick up the car. I also instructed my dealer not to let anyone sit in the car and they followed instructions.

It would be like borrowing someone else's underwear while yours is still in the dryer.
I'm not saying it's never happened someplace, but I'd bet the offender doesn't work there any more.

Both of the above scenarios are unconscionable. I cannot imagine that any Porsche, BMW, Mercedes or Ferrari dealership would permit a salesman or other employee to do such a thing. No one is that dumb to think, "Oh, what could go wrong?"

I thought that WAS "the break-in procedure"?!
