991 Wheel Weights. Courtesy of Wheel Enhancement

The 50th Fuchs certainly has a unique color scheme, but underneath I think it's all the same.
AP always makes a point in his interviews to say that the GT cars' wheels are forged. Again makes me think all non-GT cars just get cast wheels. I am also interested in the CL wheel weights, but only for my curiosity.

Wanted to ask if anyone knows about the forged 991 TT/TTS wheel weights. I'm specifically looking for the forged sport classics but haven't found much.
I'm looking at getting winter wheels and was looking for a baseline. Wondering if "flow forged" cast wheels are about the same weight as stock forged wheels or if they are a little or a lot heavier.

not correct , as the 20" 991.1 Fuchs-homage Sport Classic wheel as used on the spcl edn 911- 50 and Club Coupe models are also forged ...
so despite their being half an inch wider at 9 and 11.5 inches like the 3lb heavier due to wider Sport Techno wheels ( vs the narrower Carrera S and Carrera Classic ones ) , forging allows them to weigh about the same as the latter :
20” Carrera S cast Wheel ( the most common ones )
8.5” x 20” 23lbs 10oz
11” x 20 27lbs 12oz
20” Carrera Classic cast Wheel ( the 10 slim spoked machined finish ones )
8.5"x20" 24lbs 3oz
11"x20" 28lbs 4oz
20” Sport Techno cast Wheel ( the 5 propeller spoked ones )
9"x20" 27lbs 2oz
11.5"x20" 31lbs 1oz
the 9 x 20 and 11.5 x 20 forged " Sport Classic " wheel :

I know very little about this, so I will ask.. how much difference does it really make? I vaguely understand the unsprung weight concept and benefits of keeping it low.. But once you add the weight of the brakes, the wheels & the tires and suspension components that make up part of the unspring weight, does a wheel a couple of pounds lighter make that much of a difference in everyday driving or even mainstream track driving?
It was easier to feel before electric power steering /modern suspension for sure... I had an old underpowered 69 912 (aircooled long hood), on which I went from fuchs (light) to steelies (heavy) and it was amazing to experience... I could no longer feel bumps, but the steering went completely numb, lost whatever little acceleration I had, braking was worse, handling was nowhere near as good, the difference was night and day. To the point where I could tell you what I was driving without looking at the wheels in 2 seconds (we tested, blindfold and all)...
On a modern car I'd guess it's harder to "feel" because power steering / more over HP, heavier cars overall too, but I have no doubt the benefits are similar...
Another example, I have an electric beater (Golf). It comes with the ugliest wheels and crappiest eco tires... I once put a stickier tire on it that was the same size but way heavier, and it definitely *killed* the initial acceleration and numbed steering some more. Subsequently, I put in a wheel+tire combo that was actually lighter than stock despite the increase in size, the acceleration returned to normal or better... I'm a big big fan of reducing unsprung weight, especially on a lighter weight lower HP car, but logic dictates it applies to all...

For cycling it ia even more important. Most figure rotational mass is around x8 in watts used (pedal power) and fatigue over long distance.
Wish I did not like the Carrera S rims so much. I put lightweight chinese knockoff M rims on a 545 sport and it literally felt like 50hp and so much more agile. I did eventually crack one but oh well.
