Need to record sound of a 991 Cab in San Francisco
I'm a 993 forum member over here looking for a favor.
I'm a sound designer working in feature film. I need to record the sound of a 991 cab, interior and exterior. No hot *******. A couple moderate start and aways,
and a steady interior with the top down. Door OC's etc. We never go over about 35 mph. This should take about an hour. Golden Gate park may be a good venue during a quiet time of day.
I suppose a 997 would do the trick but want to do it right if possible. There may be some characteristic engine sound the 991 does not share with the 997. 991 cabs are most likely rare so I'm prepared to accept a 997.
My mechanic says they never get it right in the movies. I assured him I would not
dissappoint.

Three Wheelin'
Can't help you with a 991, but I do have clips of my 997s with sport exhaust I recorded a while ago. They were recorded with schoeps mics, great river pre amps and Weiss converters so they're broadcast quality. You're welcome to use them if you can't get a 991. Don't have the car anymore so they are what they are and may not match the film but could be worth a try.
