Default Bucket Seats

Looks like they're an option now. Just saw them on Porsche's FB.

Keithos: We have previously talked on this forum about the 'sport buckets' and how they are available on the 991 & 981 in other markets but not in the US. What is 'FB' and what are you trying to say or imply by your new post?

Eduardo

Ed, you are showing your age.

FB is facebook. It looks like they posted pictures of the new C4 along with the buckets. I'm not sure what that means though..

Then what do you think this means FFB?

That is what I have heard every whipper snapper about your age say after they lost money speculating in some overhyped IPO a few months back! I am not familiar with either 'FB' or 'FFB' so ignorance is indeed 'bliss'!

Wow, those seats look REALLY nice! Can't say I've seen folding race seats before, but they look damned near perfect.

FFB, btw. Fing black hole for time.

Eduardo,

Oops, did not know they were available in other markets already. I thought they were not, and since Porsche posted photos of them on their Facebook (FB) account today I assumed that meant they were about to be available for the 991. Sorry for misleading anyone.

Come on... you knew what FB was, right? You were just pulling my tail!?!?

OK, the FB/FBB thing gave me a really good laugh. Now Keith, did Porsche FB say anything specific about the Sport Bucket seats becoming an option on the 991 in the U.S. anytime soon?

Keith: No, I truly didn't know what you were talking about at first. If you would have spelled out 'FB', then yes! I don't do Facebook or Tweeter. Email and posting on these forums are the current boundaries of 'social media' for me.

For our car hobby, however, nothing has been more important --I would even say revolutionary!--than the emergence and popularity of forums like Rennlist & the others! For years I have benefited enormously from the wealth of knowledge displayed regularly on these forums on just about every automotive subject matter that I can think of! It is truly impressive how much better educated & erudite each of us are simply because we are constantly engaged in these forums! In the absence of this 'medium', it would have been impossible to master any subject matter as thoroughly, or as quickly, or with so much diverse input from every corner of our planet! I know it would have never happened otherwise in my particular case! So this is a truly revolutionary development for our hobby! And it has also forever changed how we interact with one another in the pursuit of this great car avocation!

So for this type of new 'social media', I am eternally grateful! But re: Facebook or Tweeter, I could care less!

Saludos,
Eduardo

Brian: That, of course, was the first thing all of us checked when we first saw Keith's posting this morning and it's not there! As you know, it has been in other Porsche markets for a while now, for the 991 and now the 981 too! Do you have any inside information as to when 'sport bucket seats' might be available on the US/Canadian market? Thanks!

Saludos,
Eduardo

Ugh, sorry to get everyone excited (prematurely hopefully?). I have no knowledge of when (or even if) these are available to US customers. But threads like these help build a business case to take to Porsche!

Eduardo, completely agree regarding online forums! I'm forever grateful for all the new-found knowledge.

BTW, it's Twitter, not Tweeter. Hahahahaha.

If PCNA won't offer them, why not just bypass PCNA and have the dealer call direct to Germany? I don't see why they couldn't be added at whatever cost, I think it was $3000 on the 987/997.
