991's at the PCA Parade in Salt Lake City, Utah!
One of the 991's brought to the Parade was the Rolex Daytona 'Safety Car' signed by all the competitors at this year's race! The next 991 shown is a 'Racing Yellow' 991 was driven to the Parade from Sudbury, Mass! Note the contrast to the Speed Yellow Cayman S in the background (which looks almost orange in this underground garage photo)!
I am here with my 'Crystal Blue' 1970 911E Targa (last photo) which I have entered in 'Preservation' for the Concours tomorrow morning! If any of you are interested in more information on this early car, you can go to either of these two Rennlist links as I will posting from the Parade all of this week:

My car received the prestigious 'Judges' Choice' award by Porsche Family at Parade!
Just a quick note on how my old 55k original miles 'Crystal Blue' 1970 911E Targa did at the 2012 PCA Parade in Salt Lake City!
In a tradition that dates back to when Ferry Porsche used to attend earlier PCA Parades, representatives of the Porsche family and/or PAG that come to every Parade select ONE particular Porsche each year at the Concours for the prestigious 'Judges' Choice' Award! At this Parade, the judges' panel consisted of Dr. Wolfgang Porsche, Hans Peter Porsche, Ferdinand Porsche (Wolfgang's son) and Detlev von Platen (CEO of PCNA). So these judges had some memorable names! For the 2012 Salt Lake City Parade, the Porsche family chose my 'Crystal Blue' 1970 911E Targa for special recognition as the recipient of this year's prestigious 'Judges' Choice' Award! This is a very coveted award at every Parade and it was truly was an honor to receive it on behalf of myself and the two previous owners that took such magnificent care of this rare car since it was delivered new in 1970!
In addition, the car was given a Second Place trophy in its Preservation Class in the regular judging (tied for first but other 911 was given the award based on the fact he was the original owner). So it was a particularly rewarding Parade for this un-restored '70 911E Targa and I feel pretty proud of this vehicle! In the only other showing since I acquired the car in 2008, this car won First in Class and First in Division at the 2009 PCA Parade in Keystone, Colorado. And some years back, the previous owner (I am the third) garnered First in his Class at the 1986 PCA Parade in Portland, Maine. This car first came to national and international attention in 1980 when it was the cover shot for Gmund Magazine's issue #4 and was featured in an article. 'Crystal Blue' is one of 30 colors offered by Porsche in MY1970. It was only selected by 15 or 16 cars out of the nearly 16K produced that year. To say it's a rare color is an understatement. So with this 'Judges' Choice' award by the Porsche family in 2012, this special car continues to roll with good fortune!
In the next few days I will start a thread on some 'ordering' information I was able to obtain from the representatives of 'Porsche Exclusive' for the 991 and 981 new models!

PDCC in action!
Some additional photos of new 991's on the Parade Auto Cross at the Maverik Center parking lot in Salt Lake City. Let's see if you can tell which car(s) had the optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC)!
