Hi katmai! If you think stalling at the booth is bad, try mistakenly traveling down the truck lane at the Swiss/German border. They'll make you back up against traffic. Really sux

I apologize if this was obvious to everyone but me, but man those backup lights look cool when on. Such slim, discrete inserts.

Happened to notice this morning when my significant other was backing out of the drive. If you have only been behind the wheel when backing up, they are worth a look.

wouldnt the easy solution be to just place the key somewhere when washing?

Default hose n pop

Yes of course it is easy to avoid having the hood pop by keeping the key anywhere but right there in your pocket. But they you miss amazing the neighbors!

I'm generally not pleased with the auto stop/start, but the "sailing" feature that goes along with it is quite well designed. It shuts off if you tap the brake, eg, if you're approaching a car in front of you too quickly, and goes back into auto mode after you touch the accellerator. Nice.

On the downside, two things to watch out for if you have the smoker's pkg. First, if you store a parking or tollway ticket in the crevace behind the ashtray lid, it will likely be sucked into the center console, never to be seen again unless you actually remove the switch panel. You might have to do this if, say, you've thusly lost a toll ticket on the autostrada and face the prospect of paying for a 1k mi journet when you've only gone 1 mi. Ask me how I know.

Second, do not overload the ashtray with coins as it will then prevent you from oushing the lid down slightly in order to epen it. Then you will have to accellerate followed by braking sharply in order to have the coins slde forweard enough to open the lid. Ask me how I know.

The coolest thing my 911 does is accelerate really really fast, and stop really fast too.
Cool, basically useless, things cars "do" are for Lexus buyers based on my experience. Just a thought....

Smoker's package?

Does it come with a compartment and straps to hold your bottle of oxygen when you get emphysema? How about a clean up kit to leech the blood outta the carpet and leather when you have hemoptysis (coughing up blood) from lung cancer? Or maybe a nebulizer that drops from the roof for "breathing treatments?"

FYI: I doubt that many, at least in the US, ordering the smoker's pkg are actual smoker's, eg, I've never smoked a cig in my life. As was explained to me by the head of the design studio on the west coast, this free option adds an extra 12v receptacle to the center consol, and provides a more finished look than the simple open tray it replaces. I thought everyone knew that. Apparently not.

As a physician, who counsels patients regularly about the hazards of smoking, I couldn't resist the temptation to try to make a difference on this list.

Imagine it, though, a Porsche outfitted with all of the nonsense that I suggested!!!

My man, where are you going with this? You sound like those horrible anti-smoking commercials, where they show you people's sick lungs and stuff. I've never smoked in my life, but I don't need you or Uncle Sam to tell me what to do with my life. If I want to smoke,I'll smoke my lungs out! I don't need BS and ways to sell me all kinds of drugs. The kind of ' You're not in a good mood today...well there's a drug for that or You're allergic to clean air...well there's a drug for that '. I'm sick of all this drug industry!
This is a car forum,I don't need to be reading about your emphysema, keep it civil please.
It's been explained many times why there's an advantage in ordering the smoker's package.
