Airbag passenger side off warning light

i noted that this stays on all the time. Except of course if there is an appropriate sized passenger. I have the same issue in an 11 mb and was told that's how it is now federal mandate. Makes no sense

electrical tape..

had to do it on 2 cayenne's and the 991 now...

matches plastic perfectly, no light will ever emit through it.

Does everyone have this issue? is this a ROW phenomona and thus porsches thing or a US mandate?
