Default 991 Owners- Using any oil?

Having owned two 997.2's that both used oil, I am curious if the new 991 engines are doing the same. None of my other water cooled Porsches used oil like the 997.2's I have owned. Up to .5 quarts per 1000 miles.
991 owners, yes or no on oil usage?
I am not familiar with making a Poll thread, but it might be nice on this issue, if any one would care to.
Thanks.

Sorry, what do you mean? Are you asking whether engine is actually using oil? Yes it does as any other engine. Or you are asking whether you need to top up oil?

Seems like he's referring to oil consumption.

1000 miles and down one bar (quarter quart?), so about average for early break in. And no "smoke screen" starts to date!

2200 miles with no indication of oil consumption. Every time checked it's always 2 bars shy of full

1100 miles (3.4 l) and no indication that the level has dropped. No smoke or soot on the rear either! A far cry better than my 2009 997.2 (3.6 l).

Sounds like they at least kept this 911 tradition. Some use oil, some don't.

I added half a quart at 1,800 miles. It was still in the green but I topped it off to one bar from full.

Checked oil level at 3,800 miles and it was on final bar. Went to the stealership and had them top off with a quart or two. Observed break-in period (<4,200 rpm for 1st 2,000 miles) for the most part with several short bursts over 4,200 rpm.. Plan on getting first oil change at 5,000 miles.

First 2,000 km down 1 bar, then I have changed an engine oil.
Add another 1,900 km = same bar.

Mmmmm...do people actually go to the dealer to have their oil topped off?
BTW,are they still using Mobil1 0W-40 in the 991s?
