Default Anyone worried about missing bumperettes?

Being in NYC, I'm a bit worried about the lack of idiot protection now that the bumperettes are gone.

No way am I putting on some stick on ugly taxi cab protectors though. Any elegant options out there?

Although many complained about the 997's bumperettes they are a far better solution than replacing or repainting an entire back end on a P-car. I replaced a bumperette on my car several years ago because of a similar scrap in parking and although it took some time to R&R the old one and put in the new (to include paint work) it was far cheaper than dealing with the entire back end. I think Americans in big cities are going to miss that a lot.

I have noticed from living in Germany for many years that people are much more concerned about others' cars and thus it is very rare to experience a door ding or a 'touch' from a car during parallel parking. In America it is very common in big cities to park via the braille method...

With the new 991 you just respray the rear bumper every 2-3 years when you have it off to replace the engine air filter.

This is kind of funny! For years Porsche owners complained about the USA bumpers having bumperettes. Everyone wanted their Porsche like our European brothers.

Now, Porsche gives us Americans a wart-less rear bumper, and we want to glue them back on.

We keep painting stuff, and Porsche finds way to remove them with their next model revision.

Go figure.

Eric,

It's a great product for bumperplugs. A rear license plate frame with bumperettes. I'll buy one.

I prefer to think of them as nipples... which is a much more pleasurable image for one to ponder.

With the hips of the 911 where they are, that seems anatomically incorrect 😃
