Default Window frame in Hi-Gloss Aluminum - Delay??

I have ordered the 991C2S for production in Jan 12. However, just got a call from the dealer informing me that if I insisted on the Window frame in Aluminum, my production schedule will have to be delayed to an unknown date. Has anybody heard about this? Has anybody else ordered this option?

I have seen the new the 991 at a car show and many postings with pics, all have this option. How strange??

I've been asked either to delay my production date to unknown or remove this option from my order. Does anybody know when this option will be available?

January production should be fine. As far as I read from other forum the issue only for November and December production cars. The factory had confirmation that the aluminium window trim is available from January production.

I also order January production 991 and so far does not heard anything from the dealer except the brushed aluminum interior EEN and XYE won't be available until 05 Feb 2012.

I was going to order that option for mine. I was ordering in January for April/May delivery. How much was this option - not listed online build?

Thanks,
Mark

Different locations have different price.

Hong Kong USD580 before tax
Taiwan USD850 (not sure including tax or not)
USA USD 395

It's good to have a choice but I wud suggest don't get it. Useless option, waste of money, doesn't look better than stock.

It is showing in the Porsche USA configurator now at $395. Have to decide if I should add it if my order is still open.

I'm guessing you mean people who like the aesthetic value of the 1963-1973 911's, right?
