Thinking of replacing my 997 cab.

I have been waiting for the Cab 991 for a while now. I have no idea of the pricing or dates. Later and more expensive for sure. I wonder if it will have a folding hard top?

The quicker they're released the more money Porsche (and VAG) will make, so I also bet they are available in 2012.
I read alot of speculation about a hardtop convertible - is everyone forgetting the engine's back there and there's no extra room? Unless the rear seats are given up, expect the same ol' cab!

Isn't that very hard to pull off with a 911 design??

On some of the spy photo's the fabric on the Cab top appeared to be very tight, with no ribs visible. I think that this had led to some speculation about Porsche maybe making a folding metal roof - and that the canvas roof may have been a fake cover. Also there was a post here that showed a patent application by Porsche that was of a folding metal roof mechanism.

I agree though that space would appear to be on the tight side i.e Very!

I don't think that you'll see the 991 Cabriolets in the US until 6 months after the Coupes arrive.

I anticipate getting 991's in around February or March 2012 and I imagine that the Cabriolets will follow up around September.

Curious to see if they'll have a folding hardtop, that's the million dollar question.
