Default GTS or 991

Here we go again, about to pull the trigger on a GTS & have been reading early reports on the 991. Would you go for the GTS or have one of the the new 991's?
Why does something always come along to mess up my decision process!

Man.....now that's a problem! I might just hang on until September and check out the car in the flesh and them make up my mind.

Yes, a good "problem". Trouble is all the good spec'd GTS cars will be gone soon and it is a known quality. On the other hand the new 991S will have 400hp and may well be "better" than the GTS in most respects.

Impossible to answer. GTS is a proven winner 991 should be a winner but no one has confirmed.

Think you need to wait this out if your really torn between two.

Do you really want the "first model year" of the 991?
Let 'em make all the little revisions/changes/tweaks, then consider the 2013 version.
In the meantime, buy a GTS.
Problem solved.
Next.

It's a great problem to have. I would think that most GTS are spec'd out pretty well. I would wait until more details are out on the 991 & base your decision on that. There should be a fair amount of white/black GTS cars available when the 991 is revealed. Any choice you make will be a good one.

I had the same dilemma, and opted for a 2012 white GTS. Tough decision, but I didn't want a first year model, and I knew the GTS was a great car, so I went with it.

GTS. Arguably one of the best "normal" 911's ever. Proven platform, wide-body with RWD, most are pretty loaded with options, somewhat limited production run, more power than the 991S (reported), likely will be cheaper than buying a similarly spec'd 991, available immediately, etc.

991 may be a great car, probably will be, but nothing is assured and I am not a fan of owning a 1st model year of almost any car. My personal current plan is to wait out the 991 TT or the mid-cycle refresh.

There will always be the "next best thing" on the horizon. Suggest getting a future classic, the GTS, now and reevaluate the 991 in the future.

if it were me no brainer gts. People already know its going to be a classic one day because it has the best that the 997 could offer. poeple are saying the 997 body is one of the better looiking and gts is the best of the era... and you could get it for a bargain!!!

I've thought about the GTS as well, but it doesn't appear to me that they've spec'd any in colors other than white, silver, gray, or black. No offense to anyone here (my 08 cab is meteor gray,) but I'm really tired of these colors. A special edition car such as this deserves a cool color and some unique options, or at least a red leather interior, imo.
