Drive belt, water pump, throttle valve
My 2013 C2S is in the dealership now. 74k miles. Engine light came on. I was told was caused by the throttle valve sensor, but they also identified that the tensioner is bad, which wore the drivebelt. They also identified that the waterpump is “has play”.
What made me unhappy was that 8 months ago the dealer had replaced the drivebelt, but despite my ask to replace the tensioner, they decided not to replace it, explaining now that at the time it was not “necessary”. Since that service I have put 10k miles to the car, but jot sure if this wear was adequate or not.
I am starting to loose trust. I am not sure if the waterpump failure is caused by the bad tensioner.
Now I am looking at a repair bill of $7k. Considering doing all of that myself. Doesnt look very complex ince the rear bumper comes out. One concern I have is related to the waterpump replacement. Because of that would also need to flush the coolant, something that I have never done before.
As far as the parts, where would you suggest getting the parts from? Porsche of aftermarket like from FCPEuro/Pelican parts.
I have got a Foxwell N530 programmer. Would it be sufficient to perform the coolant flush or I would need something more advanced. Would the rest of the parts need to be programmed, such as throttle valve or water pump or those are just plug and play?
While the bumper is out I will also replace the engine air filters. Are there any simple upgrades I could do with the engine rear exposed?
Would appreciate any hints, advice on this. Ty!
