Default Has anyone had luck in fixing faded/cracked headlights?

I know it’s a fairly common problem but mine has it bad.......

both headlights look like this. Anyone been able to buff these out with headlight repair kits? Or even get them replaced under CPO?

That can be polished or gently sanded then polished. After doing that, cover with PPF.

I know of someone who got it replaced under warranty. Get it checked out with your SA to see if they will.

I'm not sure that can be fixed (at least satisfactorily) by sanding and polishing. Best bet would be to have them replaced under CPO warranty.
This happened on my 981 and I replaced the lens with one purchased on eBay. $250 versus $1600 replacement from Porsche. Disassembly wasn't easy, but doable if you're into DIY.

Here is my headlamp after the lens replacement (my lens looked just as bad, or worse than yours):

my wife's cayman headlights looked worse than OP's. a local body shop polished, sanded and then clear coated them. it's been 5-6 years and they still look good.

If your car is covered by Porsche CPO, that damage is covered. I had mine replaced a few years ago under CPO and they were nowhere even close to how bad yours are. That is a manufacturer defect. I have seen many photos of this known problem but never that bad. You might have to press your dealer to submit photos to Porsche to get their approval. But many here have had Porsche cover this problem under warranty.

I have a similar issue with the passenger side being particularly ugly. Unfortunately my car is not CPO and I doubt that my 3rd-party warranty is going to cover it. Is replacement the only option?

I might check with a body shop as jfischet suggested try jeffm's approach if I could find a decent one on eBay. Most seem to be cracked/chipped.

Went to my dealer today and they said only chance I have is to write Porsche and explain what’s going on. They said if it was under manufacturer original warranty then it would be covered but it isn’t covered under just a CPO.

Sounded stupid to me. He said it’s from using wrong type of chemicals to clean the car, more stupidity. My dealer is **** but I knew that before buying mine.

You need to press them and insist they submit a request to Porsche. I had a similar initial response and I insisted they submit to Porsche with photos. They reluctantly agreed and sure enough, it was covered under CPO. I went so far as to show the dealer a thread on rennlist where multiple owners confirmed they received CPO coverage for this. That helped. Search for that thread and share it with your dealer. Be a pest. You have nothing to lose.

Appreciate the feedback, I'll do that for sure.

Would you mind explaining how you replace the lense?
Does it just pop off?
