Default [SOLVED] (991.2) Comfort entry sometimes doesn't work for the seat

I have entry and drive and comfort entry enabled. When I turn off the car, the seat adjusts back and the steering wheel adjusts upwards. The opposite occurs when I turn on the ignition. Usually.

Haven't found a rhyme or reason to it yet, but a good 25-50% of the time the seat doesn't adjust forward to my stored position when I get in and start the car. Pushing any of the preset buttons will result in the seat adjusting to the correct location -- all three buttons are set to the same, as I am the only driver of the car at this time. Because the buttons work as expected, including the key button, it appears to be completely unrelated to the (awful) "Auto Memory" function. I also seldom lock my car.

What could I be doing to cancel the seat portion of the autoadjustment?

Same problem with mine. At first I thought it may have something to do with the battery level, but I haven't seen any consistency of it doing that only when the battery level is low. Complete mystery to me.

Are you always using the same key?

Yes.

I thought battery as well, but it's in good health. Also it happens after a 5 minute visit in a store after a 30 minute drive, when the battery is at peak voltage.

Resurrecting this one. This problem still happens to me all the time. I may have found a rhyme/reason for it though that I'll be testing in a couple hours here when I leave the house.

When I get in my car, I sit in the seat, turn on the car, then adjust myself in the seat using the dead pedal and my back against the seat. I lift myself off the seat during this process. If there's an occupancy sensor I'm triggering, this might be stopping the automatic adjustment...

It's absolutely an occupancy sensor.

Sitting flat on the seat? Works every time.

Lift my butt just a little? The seat doesn't auto-adjust, or stops adjusting if it's in middle of adjusting.

Solution: sit your *** down until it's done adjusting.

Great discovery. Makes you wonder why Porsche makes stuff so unnecessarily complicated?

Couldn't tell 'ya. It seems that almost everything involved with the entry+drive system is unintuitive garbage. Like, why are HVAC controls set to my key? Who does that?

They managed to do a fob correctly though, and that's good.

When you guys select the seat memory preset buttons (1, 2, and key) do you have to hold the button until the presets move into place or is your car doing it with one touch? Mine seems to only do one touch when I first enter the car with the door open. Not while I'm driving. If I'm in the car while it's on, or driving I have to hold the button.

Push and hold while the car is running.

In "safe" conditions it's one-touch. Car off seems like the obvious one, but I'm reasonably sure I've had it be one-touch while the car is running. Probably in park/with the parking brake on?

I'm sure you ruled this out as obvious, but it should be stated that leaving the door open will also prevent the seat from moving.

Occupancy sensor is a new one for me. I'll have to test it out!
