I have run 19" Conti WinterContacts that come on the OEM Porsche winter tire packages. Very happy with them after one winter. If you read many of the European winter tire reviews, Contis are usually rated at the top of most lists. My Contis got through well with lots of snow, -40C weather, glare ice, and brutal freezing rain days without any issues last winter.

I've just bought some Michelin Alpin PA4's. Hoping to have them installed next week. I can let you know what I think then. Not a lot of snow or ice here, but a lot of rain and cool temps. My summer Pirelli P-Zeros are all but useless in those conditions.

I had michelin pilot alpin 5
245/35 R20 front
295 \ 30 R20 rear
Really bad experience, especially wet snow / slush.
I think the main reason is that Porsche recommended tyres are just to wide for those conditions.

my choice was between the sottozeroes and the PA4s. the PA4s test out slightly better, so I went with those. neither are proper ice+snow tires, those don't seem to exist in our size. only "performance" snow tires, which are a couple steps better than an allseason but nowhere near even a basic GT Arctic12.

Bought a fresh set of these for my Carrera T back in November, have been great so far.

You guys doing winter tires, is that because you drive in snow a lot or is just because of the temp being so low?
We don't get a lot of snow here but it's pretty damn cold in the winter and just wondering if all weather type tires are okay instead.

If you don't see snow (or will not be driving in snow), all-seasons are just fine into the colder temperatures. Otherwise if any snow is going to be seen, get snow tires.

Cold and snow. I want to be able to take spirited drives no matter what the weather is.

I installed winter tires on 20' Carrera S wheels, my car is a 2018 Carrera T. Dealer told me that its not recommending me to mount winter tires on the summer wheels, because the wheels are 11.5J on the back, and that I should buy winter wheels that are 11J. So I didnt listen, and I put 295/30 winter tires on the 11.5J wheels, I read it somewhere here on the forum that is ok and will work.
The result was a curb rash because the 295/30 tires are not wide enough so that the tire protection can get over the wheel lip. The wheel is totally exposed. Keep that in mind when ordering winter tires.
Here is Europe, no snow just cold bellow 10 Celsius, and mostly because the insurance company is requesting complying with the laws that requests from November to April, if driving in winter conditions with snow or icy roads, to have winter tires mounted on the car. The dealer was the Stuttgart Dealer right across the factory.
