Why the heck does water get in the Frunk?

Why the heck does water get in the Frunk?
Cannot figure out why on a car of this expense, that every time you wash it the design allows water under the frunk lid. Then it freezes and you won’t get the hood up if you forget to wipe it down lol. Just shocked since everything is so engineered to the ninth degree, that this frunk sucks this bad.
Never owned a vehicle before where you could easily get water inside like this one. Every time I wash it, without fail. water gets inside the frunk and sits on the plastic ledge inside the frunk. Just very odd and never thought I would see that on a Porsche lol.

The seal is only around the storage hole. That should be dry. The surrounding area, is susceptible to water. .

Why should it be engineered any differently? The luggage compartment is sealed. Just wipe the area down after a wash, just like most folks do with door jams and and under the rear deck lid.

All car trunks have an area that gets wet in the area outside the seal. The area on the 911 is just much larger than most. I have never had a freezing problem. That seems odd. The trunk lid does not come in contact with that plastic rim where the water flows.

Just another endearing 911 trait, I always pop the frunk and rear cap to wipe up any leftover water from my hand wash, keeps the areas clear of dust. Also use a leaf blower to help with the drops.
Just part of the zen of car washing.
I also found a mostly round bristle brush attachment that helps in washing off the brake dust from the wheel barrels.

i agree, it is a large area of black plastic that water sits on. It is also around and near the latch. I have had the hood freeze shut twice in -30 weather, so it happens.

Could be like me your actuator is failing.
My frunk would only open 1/2 the time ..... you could hear it but it would not pop open.
Once the actuator was replaced all is well.

Purchase a new frunk seal. It's just a rubber hoop and pulls on and pushes right back on. It most likely has a tear somewhere that isn't noticeable. If water enters inside the seal it will leak then freeze exactly how you described.
If it's water tight, no water will get in, it won't leak no matter what the temperature and won't freeze closed. I promise.

This issue doesn't seem to happening to anyone else, and many here daily drive their cars in all weather.

i bought this for my Tesla Model 3 recently. maybe you can retrofit one for your 911? model 3 frunk is the same as 911 and water gets all over except inside storage bin. I don't have propblems you do with frunk freezing, but i did the seal kit to reduce wind noise in the Model 3. the seal kit also helps keep the water out too.
