Opinion on a car, massive mileage in short time

I am looking at a car and the first owner put 9K miles in the first 3 months on the car, 4K miles in the first 3 weeks. Second owner put 5K miles in about 8 months. There are about 14K miles on the car now after 15 months. Would this be any cause of concern, typically mileage wouldn't bother me, but that first 4K miles in 3 weeks is nuts. I asked about a DME report and there is only 1 over rev as a Stage 1 on the report and the car has been certified already. Just curious to hear others thoughts.

To each his/her own, but I put 4,000 miles on my Boxster GTS in about 10 days last summer. Road trip out west.

I put well over 2,000 miles on it in six days last week. Road trip to the east coast and back.

In the first 10 months I owned my Boxster I put 20,000 miles on it.

Some folks don't like miles on a Porsche. Me? Couldn't care less. No point in owning a Porsche if you don't drive it every chance you get.

Wow yeah I typically dont mind mileage, I used to daily my cars before I got a truck, now I drive it in crappy weather. Found it weird someone would drive the piss out of the car for 3 months then sell it, but maybe I am making something out of nothing.

Well, I drove over 200 miles today just to have tacos that were featured on Diner, Dives and Drive-ins. This week's total will be over 1,000 miles. Plan on another 800 miles next week Monday through Wednesday.

Probably a lot of highway miles from the first owner I would assume. Mileage simply means the service intervals come up sooner. You would be the third owner if you are comfortable with that. Personally, I don't like a lot of highway driving in my 911. Too noisy and cramped and it is boring on the highway.

If it was an untitled 4k miles in that short amount of time, I would tend to think a press car. Or if it was titled as you mentioned, I dont think it would have changed owners that quickly if it was a press car. So that would not bother me as long as it was registered to an actual individual.

I am kinda laughing because when I read the title with "massive miles". expected to see 80k miles or more. The car has only 14k miles on it. No matter how you slice it that is low miles. And given it was done in one year it means they are probably mostly highway miles which is a good thing. On any other car this would be average annual miles. You have no worries.

That was more referencing the 4K miles in 3 weeks. Thats a lot of miles for 3 weeks of driving in a 911 I felt, but maybe I am wrong :O

I put 3500 miles on my car in the first week of ownership. Drove to Treffen Austin and back. Then another 2000 miles the next month. Mileage is your friend.

I took delivery of my 2019 GTS in February and have about 6700 miles on it. And I work from home, so no commute.

If there are no serious overrevs, then I don’t think I’d be too worried about the miles.
