aftermarket warranty questions.

Hi All,
I have two cars which need an after market warranty soon.

1. My 2014 991 is currently CPO - but expires in August.
2. My wifes 2013 Mercedes E350 - expires end of this month.

Are there any recommendations on which company to get the warranties from?

What is covered?
What should I look out for?
Do they use OEM new parts?

Thanks,
A

What do the service stations, where you plan to go, recommend? They will have the best familiarity with the companies who cover best and properly pay claims, that they'll accept.

I've only gone to Stevens Creek Porsche for my 40k service.
I have not asked them what they suggest.

My Mercedes dealership Walnut Creek Mercedes quoted me $5800 for four more years and 48k more miles on the E350 - which seems outrageously expensive.

Do they accept Fidelity? If they do, shop for the best price. Many threads here on them.

May not be what you want to hear but two 6 and 7 year old German cars out of warranty? Even with extended warranty, they will be a pain. IMO, better to get rid of them for newer models if that is an option.

Fidelity Platinum. It is exclusionary. Have used OEM parts in my experience with them.

No, [they] have used OEM parts.

Fidelity seem popular, I've had a warranty with them but not claimed on it, pro rata refund when you sell the car or transfer the warranty to the seller.

What did you end up paying for it? And under what terms/deductible?

Fidelity Platinum is the way to go. My service adviser said they are the only ones who will use Porsche's rate book so there's no problems. Pricing is very dependent on mileage, I just bought mine in October, it was $4100 for a 3/36 on a '13S with 41k on it, with a $250 deductible. PM me if you want a contact that has good pricing that many on here have used, I was able to get my dealer to beat his rate by a few hundred.

search fidelity on here

Several online sellers contact info in threads. As other have said buy their platinum product. Its cost is based on milage not year. I have had them on 2 cars, others have had good luck with replacements, i spent a bunch of time researching and everyone here and on bmw forums seems to like. For those with pdk almost a necessity, but I even bought their 10 year 100k miles plat. for my 7 speed. I plan on keeping the car. Ymmv.

just got two quotes Fed Plat

2014 -- 911 - 41k miles -- 2 yrs / 24k miles - 3400

2012 -- E350 - 52k miles -- 2 yrs / 24k miles - 3100

Fidelity Platinum, 2013 Audi RS5 <25k miles.
6yr/60k miles, $250 deductible - cost: $2500 "it was a keeper" ;)
If I still had it now, it would be covered to August 2022 or 84,400 total miles.

Recouped $1800 when I sold the car, for the 911 :)

As already mentioned, it's the mileage they price it on so check up on that. 25k was a break point.
