What tool can I use to reset the oil reminder after a DYI oil change?

From what I've read of other's experiences, the 991.2 requires the Porsche shop scanner.

Nope, I was able to reset the service interval and oil mine using that same scanner.

Interesting, I read several posts that the .2 was not able to be reset by the current scanners.

A few threads on this topic. I have the latest icarsoft...POR 2.0 (I believe) and a 991.2 and it works for maintenance resets just fine.

The icarsoft works fine on 991.2, just use the latest firmware for it.

And the latest firmware comes loaded? Is this a decide that needs to be plugged into a laptop?

Yes it does. And works straight connected to the OBD-II port. The only time you connect it to a PC, is when you need to update the software for the device.

It worked for me, I tried to update the software but that was a train wreak. Never could get it to update, it it did reset my service light.
