991.2 GTS with upgraded suspension compared to GT3?
Here is the thing: we recently sold our GT4 as we need 4 seats. We have driven, and loved, the 991.1 GT3, but the trouble is the lack of rear seats again. I am starting to narrow my focus on a high performance 991 Carrera, and the GTS looks like it might be the ticket. However, the GT suspension has spoiled us; I don't think either of us will appreciate standard Carrera suspension ever again. We both loved the immediate turn-in and responsiveness of both the GT3 and GT4.
What would a GTS need to get close to a GT3? Coilovers, sway bars, control arms, drop links? % wise, how close does it get us to GT3 performance in terms of suspension? I mean, the engine is going to be different, no doubt, but I am looking at the suspension here.

If steering is that important might also be worth throwing a 992 into the mix. I know, different animal altogether.

I can't afford that much $, and I hear the new cars are a lot heavier. The weight increase doesn't interest me: I already know how much more fun a 987.2 get Cayman feels compared to a modern 4S. We looked at a Targa 4S, and it was fun, but once the cars push the 3500lb barrier, they lose some of what makes these special.

Probably just coilovers and lower control arms for the front. I had that done on my 991.1 and it handles amazingly well now. I have the Ohlins R&T series on my car.

You cant get the GTS torque/powerplant in the GT3... or the tunability.

Sweet! Did you do both coilovers and LCA at the same time or separately? Would be interested to hear impressions if separately.

I did them at the same time. LCA to get more camber, better tire wear, and better turn in. Coilovers to fix the weak base model spring rates and lower the car(-15mm). Handling is incredible since doing those mods.

What 991 are you driving? Did you have standard PASM or Sport PASM? The base PASM is pretty weak: we have it on the 991 cab we recently bought. The club is a bit more aggressive visually and will get driven harder, so I think we will just do lowering springs on the cab, but it is good to have options. We have toyed with the idea of doing Ohlins on the cab as well; it only weighs 80lbs more than the Club Coupe and puts out 19hp more, so there is no reason it can't be every bit as fast.
It is just that the club coupe, with a couple of visual mods (in my case, Aerokit front bumper and rear ducktail), looks the business more than any cab ever will.

I know that was an option on the 997, but is it on the 991? I am sure some frame can be welded in, but it might be quite an expensive mod. The 997 already had the stock brackets, right? I think I read that on the GT3 forum.

Also installed Ohlins R&T on my 991.1 base and love it. Currently on a setting of 15 clicks from full stiff and it is a completely different game now. I believe Ohlins coilovers can bring the sharpness and responsiveness in handling OP is seeking for on a GTS.

Or pay this company for a retrofit rear seats in a GT series car https://elfermotors.de/porsche-991-g...sitztbank.html
Which is about $3,400 USD plus labor to install. No affiliation just sharing info
