Default Exhaust Vacuum line blowing off after hard driving

Twice now after track days the vacuum line going to the passenger side exhaust valve has blown off on my 991.1 C2S. Each time the cooling system fault warning showed up and I had to plug the line back in, then clear the code. Anyone else run into a similar situation and/or found a fix?

It doesn't have a clamp on it?

No clamps for whatever reason (like this from the factory). Plugging the passenger side back in is no big deal since it's easy to get to, but the driver side is a PIA.

Had the exact same problem on mine. Occurred only after track days. When I switched to PSE exhaust, it uses heat shielded lines that run to the exhaust valves, instead of vinyl, that are attached with a copper based heat sealant used for exhaust gaskets. Might try that.

Perfect spot for a zip tie.

That's good to know! Looking at the parts for the PSE it does look a lot more sensible than the rubber fitting I see on my non-PSE car.

Is temperature a concern since the ziptie would be so close to the engine and exhaust?

Google stainless steel zip tie. Amazon can get you some quick for a reasonable price

I've had the same issue. First time I didnt know what was going on, just got the cooling system fault. Dealer repaired it. Approx 5 months later, the cooling system fault came on again after some spirited driving. I lifted car and found the passenger side hose off, I reconnected the hose to system, exhaust quieter but fault still present because I dont have a code clearer. But just last week, I think the hose fell off again after some spirited driving. Im just going to live w the louder exhaust.

Happened to me shortly after I had PSE installed at the dealer. They reattached it and used a hose clamp this time. No problem since then.

The 997 has a vacuum pump which is used for the brake booster and hemholz rosonator in the air box/ intake and PSE You should be able to tap into one of the vacuum lines on the RH of the engine or around the air box

The later 991.2's have a SS Norma crimp clamps on the line. I just installed a new exhaust system and had to cut the SS Crimps off. Found a source for the SS crimps from Bel Metric. Put the new ones on the line and crimped them on.

What crimps did you end up using?
