It's a flap. 😒 One of these days I'm putting a wing on mine.

Technically speaking, it's neither a wing nor a flap since they are both lift devices. I know I know, you were all kidding. Just couldn't resist.

Here's my take, since you posted it for open comment.

If you do it 100% because YOU like the way it looks and makes you feel good (subjective), then it's All Good.

BUT, if there's any part of you that is doing it because you think "OTHER" people will think your car is more cool or doing it for any reason to impress others, then I personally don't see the point.

I never drive over 76.5 mph, so my spoiler stays down. People think I left my truck open, otherwise.

I'm certain Porsche went to great lengths to make our cars both attractive and aerodynamic. If the aesthetic appeals to you put/keep it up! However, I like the cars lines with it down better and only want it to deploy when necessary. And yes, I do have Porsche logo'd clothing I wear even though its forbidden... (in public too)

I think the 911 looks better with the spoiler in the down position. When it’s open, it definitely looks like something was accidentally left open. I’ve always wondered why Porsche doesn’t finish and paint the underside of the spoiler. Personally, I let the car’s computer manage the spoiler. I think a 911 driving around with the spoiler up for no obvious reason looks silly. But... if you like it, then go for it.

I like driving with the wing up then and then, can somebody maybe answer a question? I have a 991.1 C2S and if i put the wing up manually, the wing automaticly goes back down when parked the car and then turn on the ignition the next time again, is there any setting for letting the wing stay in the up position?

I do not think the spoiler looks good up, and it is not supposed to be up except when conditions require it to be up. If it were a fixed wing it would be ok, but it's not.

All funny and mostly respectful comments. The only time I raise my SPOILER manually is when on track! I don’t want it going up and down on slow corners and fast strait aways! I select it up and leave it up! It also has a thermo switch for cooling if I’m not mistaken. Another reason for putting it up when on track. But off track, always in AUTO. It looks “unfinished” back there when up IMHO. But there is also no access to the oil or coolant caps when up! And I can’t even see it AT ALL in the cab version 991.1. Such a pretty car when down!

Agreed. All you spoiler boys need to pony up for nice fixed wing or put it away.
