UV protection or windshield, side windows
#16
If you look with polarized sunglasses through the side windows you would probably see a moire pattern (that's what I saw on mine, so I was wondering). The reason is likely the layer of plastic sandwiched between which also provides UVA/B filtering.

I have the same meter and I tested all windows a while back, I may have posted on the forum.
i tested the thin glass in the rear and quarter panels, side and windshield, all readings where like 0.00-0.01, when outside it was 3.5-4.0 directly pointed towards the sun, in early spring
which lined up with my research that Corning builds UV protection in the thin gorilla glass.
it was interesting to know

Nice, thanks for confirming. The side window in my case a bit more - 0.5 (it was 7-7.5 outside). But definitely there is UVA/B protection inside all the Porsche glass in 991.2.

I've got 3m crystalline all around the car including windshield.. Live in AZ which has arguably the hottest weather year round in the world.
I am stunned at how low the heat and sun ray levels are inside the cabin, even when the car is parked outside all day in the summer. The tint is still worth every penny.

Is this a new discovery? (Did 991.1 factory glass not reject UV rays too, or did this begin a certain model year?)
