Default Engine Control Fault

Anyone know what this is? This came up today an hour into my multi-day drive trip. Drove 400km since the warning light today and the car Is driving fine. I still have about 500km to go on this trip and it’s a bit disconcerting having the engine warning light on while I’m driving.

I had it twice in a month. Both times is was diagnosed as a misfire, cylinders 5&6. After the second time, Porsche Germany in strutted the dealer to reprogram the computers. Been good since then.

By coincidence, this came up yesterday on my wife's 2017 Macan.
Could this be a generic fault code -- with possible 100 different reasons?
Anyone else ever get this?

(Wife's went away after locking car at store for 15 minutes -- car of course ran fine.)

I have a 2013 911 carrera base model. I recently got a check engine light that said engine control fault driving permitted. It has almost 34 k miles on it. The battery is 8 years old. Could low voltage throw these type of things? Never had any problems.

It could, but it could be many other things, too.
