Just to avoid any misinterpretation, the Dyno Spectrum current product offering is Cobb AP with a Protune (custom) calibration by the team at DS.

You are not currently getting DS1 or any of the McLaren offerings. That is not to disvalue the service they are offering, just to keep this on the correct track.

Im afraid if you do this with the fabspeed its gonna be a drone monster
I can say this - with a stock 3.0 TT, the catless pipes do not produce drone, whether PSE is on or off. But it is very loud with PSE turned on and in Sport, what were pops when backing off the throttle are now huge BANGs, with flames shooting out the tailpipes! Fun!!

Also, in another thread 'nstar8' says:
"Oh boy...well, the cobb tuner, and Soul catless headers are arriving on Tuesday...Gonna start with the tune, drive it a bit, then we'll see about those headers. My local Porsche dealer is very familiar with these mods and mentioned that they've had good luck with cars passing emissions testing as they merely plug into the OBDII port and look for codes, which can be eliminated with the Cobb, so I'm told."

My downpipes are from Cargraphic, but I doubt it makes much difference.

Amazing comparison-thanks for putting this together!!! I shocked that the Cobb stage 1 has so much more torque than the x51 stock-It must be a pretty aggressive tune! Just bolted on my catless downpipes and the sound is pretty awesome! Flashed to stage 2 on the Cobb but honestly can’t tell too much of a difference. Just arranged for my protune from bgbmotorsports so will see how that does for power and will hopefully get rid of my cel for no cats.

Was looking at boost targets on cobb logs for a T and it is in fact up to 23-24 psi! No wonder its so much more aggressive than giac, which appears to only target 15psi down low and 19psi up top.

Over 20psi on the Hydratune also. Not just spikes but solid!

What logging monitor are you guys using on the Cobb to see boost pressure? Mine is showing Boost starting at 14.7 (atmospheric pressure) so I have to do some calcs to figure out the actual pressure.

On the GTS or X51, from what John at BGB told me, COBB Stage 2 should be good for close to 100 Hp and 100 ft-lbs, so our Stage 2 numbers look about right in comparison.

John also told me he doesn't get CEL with the COBB. I was under the impression the COBB AccessPort can block that CEL. I know that some tuners also claim to do that.

Did you install the BMC filter? Am under the impression that freer flowing air filter is also needed for Stage 2.

No filter for me yet...not convinced that it flows any better than stock...

All it does is add sound and maybe sharpen up gas pedal feel

I have heard the same. For me the only advantage is that it just needs to be cleaned/re oiled rather than changed. My logic is that for $300 the bmc would have to be cleaned 8 times for it to pay itself back...I think I would rather just spend $40 on a new oem filter every 15-20k miles or so...

Nice job - always good to see comparative single dyno data.

For ref GTS stock - median boost is 19PSI (when in sport plus round track) but ranges up to 21PSI.

I had the X51 on my old S (991.2) - was very happy with it, linear with lots of consistent oomph up top - ideal for a tack car running above 4000 rpm most of the time and sensible round town. Plus the potential of an additional tune netting another 50 +WHP.

MAHA Stock
C2 ~ 320WHP(PS)
C2S ~ 360WHP(PS)
C2GTS ~ 380WHP(PS)

The gts is a beast even stock. I wanna see how my car pulls against steve’s powerkit as our dyno plots are basically overlays.
Interestingly, I was doing some street pulls with the Cobb T and my giac tuned T today (great drive btw) and its basically dead even, despite cobb slaying everyone in the dyno. Its puzzling. Gears 2-3 are too close to tell. Whoever got the jump was gone. We didnt try 4th gear because its too fast for the street but Im surprised how well the giac tune performs with such low relative boost. We are both running kick *** tires now so traction was a non issue. .
