Anyone running Conti Extreme Contacts?
Almost $400 less per set than the Michelin PS4s. Ran them on my 96 993 and they were great, wondering if anyone out there had any opinions after trying them on their 991.2s?

which, the DWS? that's an all season tire - very diff from the PS4s... it's a decent all season though, maybe a bit out of place on a performance car?

The Contis were on my 981 Boxster GTS when I got it. Switched to the Pilot Sport 4S N0 a few months later. Glad I did. I found the Michelins superior in every regard (noise, grip, and comfort).
Spend the $400.

they are a good tire, comparable to the ps4... the sidewall is not as stiff as the mpss or the ps4, definitely not quite as sharp on turn in as the others mentioned and more sidewall flex which may or may not be a good thing depending on your tastes
road noise is decent, i wouldnt call them a quiet tire but maybe a tad quieter than other high performance tires

Tirerack sales guy talked me into these.
Road noise is terrible. Spoiled by Michelins over the years. Thought I'd save a few hundred and go with tirerack rec.
Hated these tires so much I took them off after two weeks and bought the Michelins Pilot Sports. I run Mich on all my cars. Quite, smooth, great grip always.
Conti's sitting in garage on a extra wheel set I have.

thanks for the comments guys/gals. Don't remember the road noise from previous use on my 993 but since I ran them almost exclusively not much to compare to.

Don't do it. The handling and overall ride of the car will diminish and develop a boaty, swaying car ride that's extremely dangerous at times.
Drove a 991.2 off turo with these tires on.. Brand new too.

The Michelin's are so good. I don't even have them on my 911 yet as the dealer installed fresh Pirelli's as part of CPO. I have the Michelin's on my daily (Golf R) and after just a few weeks, I'm really tempted to swap out the abysmal Pirelli's. It's just hard to justify replacing tires with the majority of their tread life left.

Only negative is they will loose a lot of their magic on hot ambient track days after 4 - 5 laps. They all do to some extent, but the RE-71R is so great when cool that it the difference in grip is substantial. That said, the fall off is quite predictable with large slip angles to tell you the best is over until they cool off some. They are also surprisingly good rain tires if above 1/2 tread depth.
