Am I crazy, GTS as a daily driver
Really interested in a 2016-18 991.2 GTS. Think it is a rare great car. But want it as a DD and would probably put 15k++ miles a year on it. I know I would take a hit on resale if in 3 years it has 50k+ miles. Would try to get a CPO car that has warranty of course.
So crazy or just drive and enjoy???

Drive and enjoy. Why care about resale and the next guy? This is stingy/cheap/cannot afford mentality. One lifetime, why buy Porsche 911 or any car for that matter and not enjoy?
I do not daily drive my GTS but easily could.. The days I do drive my GTS I rack up about 200 miles or more. 2017 with almost 17k miles here.. Purchased brand new... I've taken about a 20K hit so far. Spent nearly 20k in modifications.. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

I daily drove my Carrera S until I sold it. Just drive it and enjoy it. You might be dead next week (I hope not). When you are on your death bed will you say "I wish I hadn't driven my Porsche so much so my wife or whoever can sell it for more"?

I am waiting for my GTS to arrive (not an easy wait). Realistically should be no more than 10k miles/year.
I plan on using it as my DD in the spring/summer and fall, weekends to the mountains will be with the Jeep.
No plans to DD in the winter as that will be the job of my Subaru STi, but I am seriously looking at a C4S as a winter DD.

The 991.2 (non-GT cars) are luxurious, compliant, smooth (soft?), loaded with features and are a blast on the track too. The benefit to all of the refinement is they are great DDs. If you want to own a 911 and not DD it, why not buy one that is crazier such as an older GT car or an aircooled? The best part of a 991 is the ability to use it however you want w/o concern.

I used my 2017 C4 GTS aa a daily for a year commuting to work 20 miles each way, plus errands on the weekend in North Carolina. There were a few snow days where the car stayed inside due to lack of snow tires, but other than that, rain or shine, it was my ride. It was also the best part of every workday. The only reason I stopped is that I'm not working at the moment. About the only drawback is the minimal sound insulation in the car. If you have chip-sealed or other types of noisy roads, the tire noise will be very loud. Other than that, the GTS is fun, comfortable, reasonably practical, and did I mention fun?
Go for it and enjoy.

I DD my 991.2 GTS everyday. Recently Ive been taking it back and forth to Birmingham from ATL, 300mi round trip.
Its a great DD, its just very loud on the hwy. It can get annoying some times and the size of the car can also be a bit trying but overall its not bad and I always enjoy driving it.
I out about 8k-10k miles on it every year.

I daily drive my 911/50th which is a GTS underneath. 55k miles in just over 4 years. If you aren't going to drive it, don't buy it.

I have a tick over 65k on my 991.1 C2S with dozen track days as it's my only car. I don't care about resale. Unless I had a more rare car like a 911R or GT3RS, I just stack miles on my cars Why would I save my car for the next owner ??

You are crazy for asking. What else are you going to do with a GTS, look at it in your garage?
