Adding hood stripes...
Today my stripes finally arrived from Highgatehouse in the UK. It took about 10 days to receive them and just two days to be produced.
The reason I ordered from them was that their hood stripes are not the normal "R" style stripes, but a design inspired by the side stripe of the Carrera T. Same Agate Gray color as the side stripe, and the same cut-out section as well.
The only problem I encountered (and we knew this may happen) was that my T has the Sports Design spoiler, and apparently Highgatehouse could not locate a single 991.2 with that spoiler in London that they could measure. In any case, I sent them pictures and measurements, but the shape of the mini-ducktail is hard to capture in pictures.
Fortunately, my son who is a professional designer, was able to re-design the piece that goes on the spoiler, and after making a pattern, we cut the sticker to the new shape and it looks perfect.
Here are some pictures of the installation process and the final product.
I really, really love how the T looks with these stripes!
This box arrived today with the stripes:
Testing the fit before installing:
Creating a template for the Sports Design spoiler:
Cutting the parts that needed adjustment to fit the spoiler:
And this is how it looks now:
