Seatbelt buckle binding
Okay, I am sure most if all of you have not dealt with this issue on the 991. Scenario is your seatbelt buckle is handing about midway up the side of the seat as the retainer has slipped down. So you have your seat moved forward and as you move the seat back the buckle binds sideways between the airbag cover on the side of the seat and the side of the rear panel, I did this once on the driver side and quickly noticed and was able to remove the small dent in the panel with a heat gun and rolling a can over it but it was only binding for 10 seconds.
Well I had some work done on the car, and I cover everything up, seat covers, steering wheel cover, blue tape on the door sills. I get it home and go remove my passenger seat cover and it not coming off, I then noticed it was caught, because the seatbelt buckle was trapped, awesome. I moved the seat and got the cover off and sure enough, two small dents, I quickly got the heat gun and got the one out of the airbag cover but the one in the rear panel is not coming out all the way, crap. It appear they moved my rear passenger seat as my rear seat was folded over and I never fold them over.
The car was there 4 days, so who know how long the buckle was stuck. So any other ideas to fix this? My heat gun helped a lot but I think I would need to remove the panel and heat it and push from the rear to get this 100% out. I am afraid to ask how much a new panel is. Can’t find the part online. This is why I absolutely hate leaving my car with anyone, it was not intentional, I have let the shop owner know what happened. My wife laughs and says every time you hand your keys to somebody there is always a little reminder of the event, 1st world problem for sure but it still sucks. How hard to remove the rear panel, the one with the speaker.
thanks
To others, if your seat belt buckle is not up at the top it will bind up between the seat and panel if the seat is moved back, just a warning.

This is a known issue, and yes, has happened to me and many others. I bought a belt adjuster that keeps the clasp up high near the pillar top. They can be found cheap on ebay.

Well I got it about 99% out with multiple attempts with a heat gun and water glass, don’t think I am gonna replace a $900 panel.. Funny thing was this was a Porsche specialist wonder how many other cars this has happened to, I am a bit frustrated they don’t know about this. Lol, I had everything protected, did not think they would move my seat. Others be warned, I will pick up some clasp from eBay, any links or pics would be appreciated.

What I did was I put the doohickey on the bottom of the clasp and not the top as pictured. That way the clasp will not go any lower than where you set the doohickey at.

Well, after working on this with a heat gun and wet towel, I got it to 99%, I don’t believe anybody would ever know about it other than me. Still pisses me off, but that somebody else did this but I need to move on. So for others, act quickly, heat gun, roll the side of a glass over it back and forth, and repeat. Then heat then damp towel. Had it not sat this way at the shop for 4 days I am sure it would have come out 100% like my other panel did when I did this on the other side, but it was 10 seconds of binding, not 4 days. Just an FYI for others.
