Any Cabriolet owners experiencing this?

Thanks. Unfortunately my car past warranty. Was your top this bad? Any idea what the cost would have been if not under warranty? How did replacement top look? Any difference from the day you got it? Thanks

I read somewhere a replacement top is about $5k. My top was not quite that bad but pretty close. Was coming apart at the seam just like yours, maybe not quite as obvious. Replacement top looks perfect. As good as new. Was a brand-new factory replacement. Hoping it does not happen again but time will tell. I CPO'd my car after I bought out the lease, so I have a six year warranty from the date of purchase. This is a known problem with the cab top. Others on RL have dealt with this as well. No harm in seeing if they will cover the replacement out of warranty. The worst they can say is "no."

OP, It also looks like your top is no longer repelling water as well. Is it always parked outside? GL

I had this happen...wasn’t as bad (pics below - pen ‘top’ near separation to give a frame of reference for size) & replaced under CPO. Glad I caught when I did - December, CPO just ended in April . Top was almost $5k (I saw the invoice) and (supposedly) it’s labor intensive (want to say, all in, they guessed between $8-9k). I would imagine that removing the old one was a good part of that. Like the previous poster, they had to get the part in from Germany. They said installing/aligning was a major pain but it works/looks flawless now. I’m near a reasonably sized dealership & they said they hadn’t seen this before. Part # they used for me was 9P1-898-527-A-A10.
