CTEK maintainer lighter adaptor stopped working after 2 years?
For the past 2 years I have used a CTCK MUS 4.3 battery maintainer on my 991.1 GTS. I use the lighter socket under the arm rest and it has worked totally fine.
All of the sudden it has stopped working and when plugged in it will never go to full charge (green light) like normal.
I thought it might be the battery going bad, so I connected the CTEK directly to the battery and sure enough it worked normal and the indicator went green.
Once I figured out it was not the battery I tired the lighter adaptor in the socket on the passenger side foot well with the same result as the other socket. It would never go greet.
I even bought a new lighter adaptor thinking maybe mine went bad but got the same result of it not working.
Has anybody seen this? I know I can change and go directly to the battery but I'd rather do the lighter like I have been for the past 2 years. Not sure what changed...

Yep. I’ve tried that and can’t get that to work either. I was convinced that the battery was going bad. But when I went straight to the batter all was normal.
At a loss.

No problems with my CTEK 4.3 after 3 years of heavy use, using the cigarette lighter plug. If that plug did die and it wasn't a blown internal fuse, I'd simply replace it.

Its hit or miss. Some last forever, others die fast. Youtube has videos of a guy opening it up and having similar issues as I did with the button on top of unit being faulty and no longer cycling the options.
I had no interest in opening it up and fixing it, I just tossed it in the trash.
