Default Changing spark plugs

As posted earlier I am getting a warranty replacement of my 2017 991.2 PDK.

The car has 21k on it, I was wondering by having the transmission out would it be considerable advantages to have
the spark plugs replaced?
Or would the saving's would be short.

21k is a bit early for spark plugs, no?

I think plugs are 40K or 4 years, whichever is first.

What happens to plugs that are 4 years old and say 20k miles? Why would they need to be changed outside of Porsche saying that they should. I could ask the same question about changing oil after 1 year if the car has only 5k/year.

Replacing on mileage is maintenance based on wear and tear, replacing due to calendar is based on preventive maintenance (it's been a while, better to freshen up) I'd imagine

Yup that's why you replace the plugs.

Oil- is because it can get moisture in it from sitting.

Time to go electric. As an owner of a 991.2, it will be my last ICE. I've owned many cars in my 50 years of driving and have had my fill of manufacturers time based insistence.

Plugs are cheap, especially now. I change every year, the GT3 recommendation is 2 years. If you drive your car hard, it might make sense to prevent seizing.

What does the transmission removal have to do with spark plugs? Might consider changing your windshield at the same time just in case.

Hmm, I wonder if battery packs have time limits?

I'm a fan of changing plugs more often, I'd have them done with the new transmission. I think they're even more critical on turbo cars like yours. I change them on my modified Golf R every 20,000 km.

My thought if the transmission was removed that access would be increased of getting to the plugs would be possibly easier.
I can tell you a pretty savvy guy thanks for the windshield recommendation you must be fun at parties.

I mean you have to hand it to him... if there was some wine at said party, I’m sure the windshield comment would be good for at least a chuckle! 😁
