Wheel & Tire Review: Signature Forged SV104 20" Wheels & Cup 2s
I was in the market for a set of wheels specifically for track use. I have a stock Targa 4 and am tracking once / twice a month (Button Willow / Willow Springs / Chuckwalla, etc) and needed to swap from street tires to track. I was looking for used wheels to save money and my primary criteria was - 1- Fit (I wanted it to fit like a stock 991.2 wheel without any spacers, etc) 2 - quality of build (needs to hold up for track use) and 3- look (honestly look was way down on the list as I really just wanted to have something not too expensive and if it looked nice cool.
Rennlist member Jnosol listed his Fully Forged SV104 20" Wheels with TPMS on the marketplace (https://www.signaturewheel.com/product-page/sv104) and I pulled the trigger based on the fact they fit perfectly for the wide body 991.2 and the price was right (especially for the quality, the price for new and that Jnosol was going to warranty them for track use). I then picked-up Cup 2s (245 / 305) and got them wrapped in time for the Speed Venture Willow Springs event. Here is the review:
Fit - slapped right on.
Look - wow. I wasn't expecting it too look better than the stock rims but it is a massive improvement. The color (Gunmetal) was made for the Agate Grey. The rears look especially aggressive.
Ride - The Cup 2s are a definitive improvement over the 4S the Targa 4 comes with. I've tracked with the 4S on Buttonwillow and it is a great tire for daily driver but the Cup 2 is a nice improvement on the street and massive improvement on the track. If I was going to keep them on the car at all times I would def get the car lowered a smidge. The wheels were slammed with rubber from the track and I was able to peel it off and there was no chips, damage, etc. Quality of build is excellent.

The SV104's were my track wheels for my Turbo but I used them on the Touring in the winter, below 30°F, so I could take it in for ceramic coating and clear vinyl. At first I thought this is going to silly but after mounting them on the car I was pretty impressed that it looked so good.
