991.2 Tune - New ECM in Lieu of Modding the Original?
Has anyone purchased a new ECM to send off and have modified and retained the factory ECM so the car can go back to stock?

ECM swaps are not uncommon in other makes of cars. Keep one OEM and the other modified. Just swap and go as necessary.
The mileage, etc is not stored in the ECM as far as I know. They do go bad on occasion on their own and have to be swapped with new ones.

I don't think it works that way... i think you need program the ECU to mate with the car first which requires Porsche tools. Otherwise its just a doorstop. Maybe you can ask Cobb if they can do that.
