Default TRUE OR FALSE

True or False - My well equipped 2019 Carmine Red Targa 4 GTS will hold its value better than a new well equipped 2019 Turbo S Cabrio ?

The reason I ask is that I recently took delivery of my new T-4 GTS ( 400 miles on it ) and just saw a Turbos S Cabrio that caught my eye.

Besides money, what will I miss, if anything, by getting the Turbo S and selling my Targa ?

Cars are a depreciating asset.

With that said........ I believe those 2 models will be very popular for different reasons and the 4 GTS will end up being the rarer model.

I may be biased but I believe that in the long run the Turbo S will hold value at a higher level. But if you are buying either car for that reason it is a losing proposition.

I am thinking that the Targa 4 GTS will hold better relative to It's MSRP. I say this since the Turbo S cab starts out higher than the Targa 4 GTS.

Depreciation is only one aspect of the question.

The second part of my post is : Besides money, what will I miss, if anything, by getting the Turbo S and selling my Targa ?

In other words, I know the Turbo S is faster but are there other things about the Targa that is superior to the Turbo that I might miss ?

The two cars will perform so differently, why care about the possibility of missing something?

obviously the biggest thing you will miss is the targa top. its an icon and is so "porsche" and so "911". Targa has a lot of character. I think you may lose a little bit of that in the Turbo. I love turbos and targas but if I had to choose one I would go with a targa. Now if you asked me targa or GT3...

It really depends on what you are looking for in a car. Tell us the answer to that question and we will better be able to answer yours.

In terms of $ you will lose lots on either. So much so that if you are ok with losing tens of thousands on one of them, its not going to matter to you if you would lose an additional few thousand on the other.

Thank you for finally answering the question.
Mostly a fair weather weekend cruiser.
Not looking to track it.
I realize both cars will lose money but in the long run most likely more with the Turbo S ??

If they had a Targa Turbo S or even better a Targa GT3, I would consider what you are proposing. Until then or until I dont need 4 seats then Targa GTS is best choice to me. Love the Targa top compared to cab or coupe. From what I understand Turbo is even quiter than GTS, but I can not say from personal experience if it is. That would be another factor. .2 GTS are little too quiet and if Turbo S is even quieter that would be issue to me as well.

Two different cars. Drive both, choose one.
If Targa is your must to have, then go for it. If not, TTS is much better car, if you ask me. As for the money I agree with others here - they all depreciate and based on 992 popularity for both guises it might be different between these 2 models. However, at the end of the day, if you keep the car long enough, it most likely will be similar percentage wise.

One cannot get a Turbo S Cab with a manual so that is what I would miss, a lot.

No Brainer. The Targa. The safety of a coupe. The open air of a Cab. And the sophistication of the Targa will blow you away. It did me... as long as it was the 991.2. 991.1 was fine. The 991.2 was better.
