Sport chrono and sport plus not working

Sport chrono and sport plus not working
I just bought a gorgeous 2018 Targa 4GTS and took delivery today. I had two prior 911 with both the sport chrono and sport plus. I noticed that the vehicle in sport chrono would not stay in gear as it should. I then noticed as it got dark the sport chrono wasn't lit up and the digital portion was dark. Little pissed that I have to deal with this immediately after taking delivery. Any advise or knowledge of this?

New car? Miles? It is obviously under warranty since it a 2018, and probably has a PDK, right? I think most will tell you to take it to the dealer, which is what I have to say as well. Otherwise it would be nice to see a pic since I know you were looking for a while.

Very nice, except for the SC problem of course. Was it working when you bought it or did it just happen?

Seems as if I have read here that Sport Plus was different on the .2s, and they don’t always hold gear all the way to redline like the .1s do. Not sure if that correct, but know that I have seen posts to that effect. Also, not sure my Sport Chrono clock lights up at night other than a very low lit outer band.

My SC it lit at night, even with the brightness turned all the way down, which I have it all the time. It appears you are talking about a PDK car; mine is manual.

Go over the car well and if there is anything else that does not seem right or that may need attention (squeaks, rattles, loose trim, etc.) have them address it while the car is there...the less the trips to the dealer the better.

And Sport, alone, doesn't hold its gear for THAT much longer than Normal.
Looking forward to seeing the outcome.

I can't remember if my SC ('17 4S) is lit at night but I can say for sure my Sport Plus feels and sounds very different from Sport, especially under hard acceleration during shifts and when I release the throttle between 4th and 3rd

When you say your SC clock is dark, are you saying there is no digital clock readout at all...ever? If so, that can be turned on/off via multifunction display. Push stalk forward, select Settings, select Date & Time, make sure Time-Chrono is checked.

I don't know about the light, but Sport+ on the 991.2 is definitely more user friendly. Instead of just automatically going to redline to shift, it shifts based on how hard you are pushing it. Don't jam your foot to the floor, and it will shift at a higher profile than Sport, but still in accordance with what you asking of the car. I think it is great you can actually use Sport+ (in auto mode) on normal roads, and not just the track. If you work it just right, you can make your tach look like it is on crack. YMMV
