Default 991 parking brake

Every time I park the car, I try to put my left foot down on the parking brake. Every. Single. Time. I suppose this is because that's the way I do it on our Tahoe. I daily the 911, so it's not like I don't have tons of reps with this movement. I just can't get the muscle memory down!
No real complaint about the parking brake besides my own ineptitude.
Any one else have this "problem"?

Not at all, it just means you need to start driving your 991 more often, then you're more likely to reach with your hand for the parking brake when you get back in your Tahoe.

Yep, love the hand brake in my wife's F30 3 series. Wish my 991 had one as well.

I drive the 911 every day, the Tahoe only once in a while. I guess it's just years and years and generations of cars, ingrained into my psyche at this point.

I'll get it eventually.

What's a parking brake? I didn't think my PDK car had one. Last used the hand brake on my manual transmission 997.

I was told by my dealer that excessive use of the E brake might cause the rotors to prematurely wear/warp?

The only time I ever head of not using your parking brake because of excessive rotor heat and possible warping was at the track.

For us normal drivers I almost always use the parking brake especially on any unlevel parking situation.

You live in TX why e-brake?
In Sea, I always use one on a hill before releasing the foot brake because I have this paranoia that when the car rolls back on the trans it's doing something bad...

I always get it mixed up: push or pull the stupid switch. My DD is a 2010 Volvo with a "as god intended" hand brake.

My garage is flat, but my driveway has a pretty good grade on it. Other than that, habit.

Ditto...I usually recall that I have to pull it to release it but setting it I have to think twice...doesn't make any sense why I cannot get it straight.

My garage has enough of a grade that my car would roll back into the door if I didn't set the brake. So I've quickly gotten used to the electronic parking brake.

OTOH, I periodically forget to lower the front axle lift. Doh!

your car won’t roll if it’s PDK. Manual just leave in gear.

Depends on how close you are to the garage door! Mine will bump backwards a tiny bit (or feels like it does) when I park it if I don't set the e-brake...
