Default Alarm went off!

My new 991.2 C2S was sitting in my closed, locked garage & the garage had been closed/locked for 6 hours (I have an app that tells me garage door status)
Is this a known issue with the car?

I really doubt it is the battery since new & I drive it several times per week.

Is it possible that you accidentally pressed the panic button on the key fob?

No, I really doubt it, My key fob is fully encased in a leather case & there are 3 button spots embossed into the leather on one side & none on the back side where the panic button is. It takes a harder than normal press on the leather to activate the buttons.

Okay, then the panic button explanation is pretty much ruled out. Also, you just pointed out an advantage to the leather key fob case that I hadn't considered!

I was woken up in the middle of the night when the smoke/co2 alarm in my room went off for seemingly no apparent reason. Still scratching my head on that one.

Unhappy

It did it again…MUCH WORSE!

Yesterday, I enter garage, open locked door with key in pocket, sit in car, take a minute to get sunglasses, seatbelt etc. & just b4 I reach for the ignition, alarm goes off! I turn ignition to on & alarm remains on! I actually start the car…alarm remains on! WTF??! I did not think that was even possible.

I shut off & Restart, no help.

I shut off another time or 2 & restart & finally… after a few engine start cycles, the alarm stayed off!

I think something is broken re the alarm system & plan to contact Porsche Monday.

If there is no code stored, they will probably do nothing.

This is not good.

While replacing my battery with the tender in place I hit the lock icon on my remote and the alarm went off tthree times . I quickly installed the new battery and bingo , silence never sounded so good . Lesson learned don't touch the fxxking remote ( haha )

^^ Good clue there, maybe the key is suspect. Either way, OP, take her in and get her checked out!

By the way, your alarm problem is pretty much just as embarrassing as when there’s a problem with the horn on cars - like the horn going off on its own, or not even shutting off at all.

Turned on the TV to see the 1983 movie Christine playing. Perhaps you are just not giving her enough attention...just sayin.

Good luck with the car - frustrating.
